Melville Beach, WA, *B Sonic 90/XFire 102, CR 7.0, Reflex 6.2, Talon 36, Goldwing 32, Speed weed 30

Great afternoon at Melville with heaps of happy sailors. Nice and flat with some good gusts. Reflex felt super sweet. Everything felt great off the wind but I never quite timed a big gust.

Very nice way to end the holidays. Stoke meter is high.

Manta 69, RSS mkIII 7.0, JP 36cm

15-25 knot SW

Great first sail for the new year.  I counted 100 windsurfers and at least as many kites - quite a spectacle.

Leighton Beach, WA,

A nuclear sea breeze at last. Powered up on the 5 metre.

Lost a lens on my first run so finding a path through the manic swell became pretty interesting.

Good to see so many out, thought my time was good until I saw Nort's.

Darryl decided to lighten up his board somewhat.

sssssssssoooooooooooo much traffic

i hate kiters Yell

only got a few decent runs where the planets all alighned , no kiters good wind the whole way down the bar no stupid photographers standing in the water no dogs swimming in the water

bit disapointed that i had 2 34 knot peaks, a 34.1 and a 34.2 and it dropped to 33.9 but oh well

pointy was on fire on his little speed board

really need to get mine finished off have started working on it again so it shouldn't be long

5.0 koncept, 76 isonic, 24 custom weedy, 6 kgs of lead for the last and best runs

Safety Bay, WA, AU

Trying speed runs on a good wind. A bit choppy over the sand bar because the tide was quite high, but - yes 30+.

Tried the Iso 50 speed board but could not get as fast downwind as the Iso 76, although it fairly tonked on the reaches at 26 knots.

KA Koncept 5.8m with 26 speed weed fin.

Looking forward to using the speed board more in flat parts of the river. Come on wind.

Fun sesh at Woodies dodging kiters in a pretty strong seabreeze.

Nice to be powered up on the small gear...CA47 + 6.6 TR7 + 23 KA assy.

Sean came down for a blat and Chris A was also doing his best not to get garotted by the strings.

Pleased to see 39 on the screen for my best run Cool.

Not many kays, cos I mostly walked back upwind.  Don't particularly enjoy bashing through the chop on the speed board.

Good to get on the board for 2012.

Mettams - Sorrento , now that was a proper sea breeze, 5m 79l

bump n jump, forgot how nice a smaller sail like 5m is to use.

Nice sailing with you Scarrgo, even though we didn't speak. Top marks for effort there and you were fearless amongst the kite pollution!

PBs woohoo! Made the right call today eh Pointy. It would have been better if there were a few more speed sailors actually, to help blast a path between all those lines. They started to clear out for a little while, but then they came back in massive numbers after 5.15, which sent me packing. The wind had backed off a little by then anyway. Kiters like to do their thing in good light I reckon, because the way became choked by dudes with cameras, which is what kiting is all about isn't it?

Great speeds Greg. I got down there at 3 to find all the car parks full so went to Leighton. There are so few flat water spots it's a pity we can't reclaim North Woodies from the kiters.

Wondered where you'd got to JJ.

Unfortunately kiters frequent our best speed strips (the Beaver and Woodies) in hordes, just have to get used to it and accept that taking evasive action at 35K is a necessary skill Tongue out

Well done on the PB Sean, nice jump in average there. Cool

And great to see Ricey crack 30K Smile.

Twas a good little breeze, nice to finally get some wind.

Great stuff, Ricey!Laughing

Scarrgo, bigger sail! Nonose is still available if you want to give it a crack. Pulled a footstrap plug out of the 122 so only have the Lorch at the moment.
