Windxtasy (13938km): Pelican Point, WA, AU 18 -25 knots 85 Sonic, 28 Vector 5.8 Firefly another 23 km of gybe practice. Improving but still a long way to go. Nice to catch up with Scarrgo and Snake
Damo (7074km): Melville Beach, WA, AU 2012 F2 SX 111 ltr,7.5 O.D.,40cm Fireblade Finally got to give the new board a go and am very happy with the purchase (thanks Steve),its a rocketship and very stable at speed, easy to get on the plane, highly recommended. Couldn't gybe to save my life but had a ball today, got off the water when the setup got a handful, hard to believe we had a decent blow. Nice to catch up with fellow GPSTC sailors

JJ (25827km): Woodmans Point from about 1 pm with Norts - got a few runs behind the sand bar - peak of 33.92. Couldnt relax though with all the kites and the wind started to get a bit ballistic. Point Walter from about 5, again with Norts - some nice gusts coming through and flat behind the dunes. Got my PB there. Isonic 86, Code Red 6.1, Venom 32 at Woodmans then Black Project S 26.5 at WW.
Ricey (11089km): Melville Beach, WA, AU Yippee! got 30+k with second use of my new Turbo 6.5m (Iso 76 with 26cm fin). A bit overpowered but just managable - most of the time. Only 0.04k more and would have had a new PB. Great fun to have some real wind at last. Damo did well to hang on to a 7.5m.

Pointman (25522km): Great sesh at Safety Bay. Got down there early hoping to beat the tide. On the water by 1.20 with my 90 XFire + 6.6 TR7 + 28 weedster combo. 3 runs across the bar and it was obviously windy enough for the candy, so back to the beach and a board change, plugged in the SP47 + 23 KA assy. Spent the next 90 minutes on this combo. Highish tide, so the run was a tad choppy, but hell it was windy Stoked to get a couple of 39s and a few 38s. The gusts were nudging 30K, but the chop was slowing me down. Tempted to keep charging and try and bag a 40 peak, but couldn't pass up the opportunity for a possible PB-alpha, so back to the beach and plugged in the 90 XFire + 31 JP weedy. Spent the last half hour busting out alphas. Drilled some smokin gybes, some of my best ever I reckon, but the chop on the run in was killing my speed on the approach. Managed my second fastest alpha, but a little disappointed not to PB. Overall a killer sesh Huey turned it on big time, strongest seabreeze I've sailed this summer, just a shame the tide wasn't optimal. Nice to sail with the Mobsters...Sam and Adam. And thanks for the backup JJ, well done on the PB!!
scarrgo (8964km): Pelican Point, WA, AU was working so was stuck at peli forgot the gps but snake lent me his for a bit which was very nice was good to see anita again got rigged before work and was 7m weather at the time but by the time i got out with jake it was a bit more 5m weather once again the reflex showed me her top end and was not disapointed completly under control, damn hard work to throw her around in that much wind though so i'm pretty tired tonight way too much drag and chop for any good numbers other than not a bad NM, very impressed with the alpha considering the wrong rig and huge chop to top off the sesh was talking to jake in the water at the beach just before a few more runs, and we got onto the subject of booms, i said that i have been kinda concerned about my big boom lately it seems to be getting softer and make a bit of noise when ever it flexes and he asked is it a stiff boom and i said yes and grabed one arm to give it a bit of a pull and show that they don't flex as i have done before and it snapped well quite lucky really it would have snapped on the next run so it saved me a swim so i'm stuck with 6.2 and 5 till i get the boom fixed 7.0 reflex, 57 mistral sl, 32 ? pointer
Snake (23888km): Booooyaaaaaaa!!! Mojo restored!! Fantastic session at Peli Point gusts coming through putting the 5.7 to the real test today. Great to catch up with Anita and Sean and have at laugh at the 7.0 in 25knots with the 50kg Pilot - quite the spectacle! Good to give the sonic a good hard workout today. Stoooked doesn't even say it today yeeew! Sonic 85, Goldwing 30, Ram F12 5.7
Jeff (13640km): Well done JJ - (and Greg), now that was a real sea breeze. Mettams to Sorrento 5m (should have been 4.2 I think). A lot more gusty than a normal breeze but that might have been the left over from Iggy. Bit challenging at times and some very large seas just of the marine research centre, quite surprising when water starting and in the trough just how big they were. Great fun. |
