Fun morning on our local pond - saw an empty car park at the Angling Club at 8am, wind was on, tide was low - couldn't fire up to make the trip to The Pit.

A good day sailing at the pit, SW most of the day with a few small squalls going by. Rigged my 5.7 and Rocket 105 and had one fin change during the day.

Got my first planing gybe...EVER. Stoked about that :-)

The run was quite busy, so a little bit of helicopter dodging and dodging those that were posing for photos and video was in order.

I had great fun at the Pit today.  After sitting around all day yesterday to not get wet i was keen for a sail.  Got there early with Jacques and rigged up my 5.9 & 6.6.  Started out with the 5.9 and i had everything feeling good.  Tried my new Black Project Speed Weeds today - i'm very impressed.  They felt great, especially off the wind.  Good grip, can point well - no complaints.

Sailed around for an hour or so and then Col turned up in the Chopper for the heli shoot.  IT WAS AWESOME!!!!  What a buzz flying down the course with a helicopter hovering a few meters from you.  Awesome sensation, was stoked.  After speaking with Col after the session a Daffy's place it sounds like there will be some awesome footage.  Cant wait to see it.  Thanks Col!!!

Isonic 86Slim, 5.9 Koyote, 24cm BP Speed Weed 28, later 6.6 Koyote & 27cm BP speed weed 31

Pretty happy with my alpha, followed Daffy through a couple and then at his place saw he had a 25 so thought mine would be pretty good too.

Great day on the Inlet. Heaps of wind and just enough depth near the sand bar to sail in flat water. Woo Ho!

Fanatic Cross 110, 6.1 NP Zen, 34fin.

As the wind dropped changed to Kult 7.0 and 44 Meanie fin. First time I'd tried the 7 metre on the Cross. After a little tweaking it worked a treat.Laughing

Arrived at high tide, after everyone had left and the wind had died off, but was a perfect arvo for a cruise around, with minimal traffic.

LOCATION:  ANGLING CLUB

WIND:  WSW- >18KTS

TIDE- LOW TO HIGH

GEAR:  CA FR77, c3 44cm, KA KOYOTE 6.6

CHANGED TO MAKANI HAHALUA 34

DETAILS:  Decided not to hit the Pit so went to Angling Club.  Great session early (at about 8am),  With Daz, Tony and Wnedles.

The Lifesavers came down and set up their boat drill right on the end of the sandbar and Daz was going to go over to have words.  I told him to leave it to me and I took off on a run and went between the two IRBS (about 2 metres apart) and then lined up the buoys that they had dropped.  They promptly moved further up the beach.

Great runs with a solid wind until about 10.30-ish then there were a few patchy moments.  Decided to test a few fins out and found the MAkani Weedie to be really nice and locked down through the shallow stuff.

Wind started to drop but I stayed on the 6.6, eventually dooging it back on the last run.

Great session boys and girl.  Sad I could not be part of it.  Great news Col on the gybe.  Well done to Wendy(again - getting a bit tired of this Dazza), Dazza, Tim(must be the thoughts of the wedding coming up!), Dan and Simon on the pbs.  Good to see we are trying new equipment and getting good results out of it.  Push the limits!

Thanks everyone. Daffy it makes it easy following you through the turns. Think I need to suss out my 50m radius better, I reckon I was a bit skinny and heading upwind a bit on the way out. I've definitely got more there!!
