Well that's the least fun I've had for years, I think Asoles is aptly named, I can now understand how Elmo feels about cheesgraters!

Probably it's my timing to blame, arrived as the wind went funky and left as it picked up, my best speed (31 on the dial) was going upwind toward the bank when I first went out. Had a couple of strong gusts where I was overpowered and struggling to hang on, but they were all out in the middle in the chop, by the time I'd made it to the bank it died. For some reason I was finding it hard getting to the bank, not sure why.

rigged the 4.7 and tried the new fin (20cm 8%) in the 43, managed to get up and plane for a few seconds, but the fluky wind made it much too much effort, especially as I'm not fully recovered from yesterdays 108km.

Changed to the 48 with the old 21 30deg 9%, that was more manageable.

Think I'll leave these gusty squally conditions to the young guys from now on, sitting around in the wet and cold waiting for a gust that doesn't last for more than a minute or two, no longer appeals.

I know the feeling. I think that 100+ km yesterday and an extra couple of decades has something to do with it!

Anyway, I'd be totally stoked with that score!

Congratulations Stroppo. Getting 2 PB's is always an achievement but almost getting within a knot of Slowboat is an even greater one! And you are a relative beginner at this GPS thing. Game on!
