4339 days ago 95 rocket, 31cm weedie, 5.8m koncept. First run out on the new rocket and couldn't believe how quick it goes, left the 90 sexy kind of wanting.
Went to kiters on a suggestion from Decrep. And what a good one it was, Lao shi, Elmo, Decrep and myself had a ball. Doesn't get better.

In the words of chessey sports commentators everywhere.
It just doesn't get much better than this!!!!
Absolutely fantastic session at Liptons bay with Pepe Decrep and Lao Shi.
Was the last on the water this morning feeling a bit sketchy from the petrol fumes of my sons car, got down the bay to see the boys belting around, enjoyed sitting on a rock watching them and listening to the fantastic sounds their boards were all making as they came belting in.
Wanted to play with the Thunder again and for me it proved to be the right choice.
Finally sussed out why Hardz and Decrep disapear of to alphaland and just do gybes, never had my act together as much as I had today on gybing, never going to be any good alphas as I was throwing them in right at the end of my bear aways, so I wasn't ever going to get back to the proxity, but was having a ball throwing it into gybes fully lit and coming out planing, even managed quite a few very sweet feeling laydowns.
Some of the best parts of the day was sitting on the board at the end runs just watching everyone come blasting in nicley lit. Wish I had a video camera to get it down.
Peak speed of the day was an interesting run, lined up a huge slingshot hooked into it took of like a scalded cat, only to sail on a huge bear away into a total glass of, zero wind superpit of a hole which took all my skillz to get it all under control and not crash in front of Mike who I could hear laughing at my predicament as I struggled to keep it all together, gota admit I would've been pissing myself to if I had have watched it.
Fantastic arvies sailing with some top mates.
It really doesn't get much better than that

Great After work session at Safety Bay, joined by a few others. Was very nicley powered with the 6.2 and when I found some flat stuff the board felt good. Tide was a shade high making the first few runs a bit nervous but later on I got settled and could open her up a bit more.
really need to find a new fin for this combo, I think it is costing me a knot or two at the moment

4339 days ago Firtsly Thanks to Yoyo for introducing me to this great high tide spot, Novara was over the clopper logs and very choppy, so Liptons was worth a look at.
Pepe didn't need any convincing to rig up right away, and he was first out by a mile, Lao Shi next then me, Elmo had to go home for his trailer, so was last out.
I was trying to decide how to have fun without putting my foot at too much risk, Thanks Elmo the big board and small sail did the trick.
rigged what I should have done yesterday, the 5.0 on the 53, started with the 30deg 23.5, and later changed up to the 25.5 30deg, got my best speeds with this fin, but the wind had picked up. A 2 knot increse on this boards PB, but probably because in these conditions, I'd normally be on the 48.
Talking of wind it was on the gusty side, Elmo's experience being the best example.
Fantastic fun though, I just love smooth water and speed.
Runs in both directions are possible, Port goes from choppy water into very smooth, but wind drops off, sometimes very suddenly!!!
Starboard goes from light wind dead smooth water, into stronger wind and chop. I tried a couple of the later, but they played my foot up to much. It was much more comfortable sailing into smooth.
How is this for a nice tangle? you can see I didn't even attempt 1 gybe in the chop.

4339 days ago 2 categories Safety Bay, came back last night and was hitching for a sail.. wake up early coz couldnt sleep.. I was worried that the surge take over the bar so I hit the bar by 8.30!! 3 kiters was warming up the water, the bar was looking smoking but only 18knts in a WSW... 1.30 later it went to SSW where the 2 different set of run on the graph. Awesome 3h session with the Holden familly nd Tom, great result from them, you guys was looking great... WELL DONE on the PBs AGAIN . good to see the advises paid off. Tomski and Pointy turned up at the right time. NIce to catch up with Pointman after so long, good luck for the hunt .
My last hr the wind was the best and was coming stronger and tide hardly went up!! shamed I started up so early, I was so stuffed I cld not hold the sail anymore and had to call it, it was 11.35 . The setup felt perfect, really enjoyed today, wished I could have sail longer
*** I forgot Tom and I saw a good size fin shark maybe 50-100m of the point, I wasnt confortable after that ***

Nearly threw on the windsurfing towel today. Very frustrated......broken battens, uncomfortable gear, flat rigged sails and generally frustrated with the whole thing. Tried every fin I own in the 95L and still didn't suit what I was looking for. Enter Slowie.....threw the 91L at me and said 'Dont change anything but the board'. Instant control increase with the same rig and fin. Loved it! Rescued my day. Stoked with working some stuff out.

4338 days ago Fun sail at the beaver after work congrats Kenno,Rod and Mitch on your pbs sounds like every body was having a red hot go well done m/mobers
my first run down the beaver in some decent wind got a 38 on the dial but it was a bit more choppy than i expected i didnt feel comftable to push it in that chop but Tom,Adam and Slowy were going forit hats of to them so i thought the smothest spot was going into the pond on port tack on the end of the sand spit with a few tea bags to contend with good fun but was hoping to get a forty with a good wind blowing but stil had a really good time
