Hi Paul,  I hit a submerged boat mooring pole. There's three above the surface,  and one about 4 inches below. I didn't realise it was possible to sail straight across the bay until I saw you out there. It's a shame that I hit the pole as soon as you went out. I was fixing my fin the entire time you were out -  next time :)
