Tried the old 24cm 45deg weedy with the 53 and 5.8, not enough fin for the hr attempt with hardie and elmo. Still picked up a bit of weed in alpha land, and tended to spin out in the lulls.

Ran foul of the boundary island sand bank again, but this time was prepared for it and didn't hit it at speed, but it did affect my hr a bit.

Tabou Thunder 70cm, NP RSR Eiii 7.8m, LE 36cm

First day since Wednesday last week where I didn't have a headache, Ohhhh I feel good, had a good day banging through a load of time consuming work, got down the run to see a nice load of wind, how good is today I ask yaCool

Thought about the 8.6m but decided to go the 7.8 as an hour was in the offing, Put my wetsuit on pulled up the zip and promptly pulled the zip right of the suit, oh dearYell this isn't going to stop me today!! I feel great CoolCoolCool

Decrep was heading down to Coody to also go for the hour so I thought I'd go down there as well in the pursuit of flat water sailing down there I don't know whether it was global warming or just a wormhole transported me to what seemed like the Swan river motocross track, the chop was large and coming in from at least 3 different directions still it was fun nicely lit getting a fair amount of airtime skipping over the lumps and bumps.

Decided Coody wouldn't be ideal to a good hour so pinched / punched upwind to Claudesville for my first outing of the year over there, twas a bit concerning venturing in there with a pointer but apart from hitting one bit of weed and a fish I didn't have a problem and the pointer definately made the chop more bearable.

Realy happy with tonights session as I pushed quite hard for the whole hour ith the only soreness being to the top of my feet which are missing a layer of fat from my loosing weight.

Great fun out there, very happy with a top 5 hour, theres definately room for improvement there.

Woo hooCoolCoolCoolCoolCool

Hardie, you have to look at the bigger picture. If you are going to play the part of Blues bass player, you cant possibly look hip, fit and interested in the world. The bassist never gets the groupies - and there is a reason for that. So at the moment think " yep, i am nailing it!'

I caught a bit of the gig at the Bouvard Tav on Friday and you guys sounded great old man..very impressedCool

I was wondering why I could not see your sail Elmo, usually you are visible way below the horizon but I didn't realise you had one of your small sails up :-) nice work.

Here you go Fangy, I was playing a long way up wind from your normal haunt, was nice an flatish at the eastern end of the runs

Had waist high junky swell going past the platform to the channel on the way back

So here's my attempt at making the same mistake twice, went too far downwind past the Island then couldn't make enough ground to get over the sand bank.

Alphaland boundary island tracks

The ruler is just over 2kms long, (where I finally got my line sorted out) most of this is smooth water apart from a few waves in the boating channel.

Would be a longer run with more south in the wind.

Because of the sandbank stuff up some of my hr includes the tacks back upwind.

Decrepit you only need to have vaccinations to come over this side of the estuary, not a lobotomy. Oh well at least that's a mistake even you can only make once.:-)
