Gear 6.8 m 105l brd 35 cm fin

Trying to get the hang of sailing downwind. I was way over powered when wind kicked in and couldn't get a run along the bank as it was so crowded.

Still fun and challenging Smile

Top day!

Was out on my 7m Reflex4, Exocet 85l and 34 C3 Venom then rigged down to 6.2m spped board 68l Exocet and 28cm C3 Venom.
Still something isn't right I'm soooo bloody stuffed... Need to run.... get the fitness back...

Still great to get some good speeds and knowing it wasn't uncontrollable... felt fast and was loving it!

Awesome to see so many Mob out there today too!

Wow time flies, haven't sailed in a month.  Good to be back on the water, even though brief.

First sail of 2014 Isonic 107 (231x70cm), first run was a bit ordinary but once started to get it tuned the more I started to like it.  Really feels like a smaller version of last years 117 but doesn't ride as flat nor as hard on feet.  Loose in tail if you slow down otherwise heaps of grip, a bit too much if you don't ride it flat as it will track along the swells- I guess to be expected with quite parallel rails and lots of edges on bottom shape in tail.  Did improve alot as I sorted straps but have to screw them down more as they were twisting (& when I figured to ride off back foot a touch more).

Last year I was impressed with Isonics but I kept my SX's as the Isonics weren't much quicker.  This year I was looking for one board to replace all my slalom boards as I don't get time to sail in light crappy winds anymore, was a bit worried the 107 would be a big jump from my speed board.  But seems to be great choice, it is a big board but just sets and goes.  I think top end has improved- 38.02 on the dial and still felt like there was another gear, last years were fast but felt like they needed slightly bigger chunks of power to get them to next level in speed (& thats comparing to the smaller 97L).

Sail not so good, my size I really need the 460 in the 7m.  Had to ditch some of nice runs as kites weren't giving an inch of room at times.

All in all- happy happy happy.  Personal PB for a board of this size Smile

Pretty good sail, mostly on the slalom board, had a couple runs on the speed board but it wasn't any good so went back to big board. Bit over powered on the 7 at times.

Rigged my 7mtr and as I was hitting the water I knew I needed my 6.3, I could not rig my 6.3 as my batten had broken, so came back in ready to go home and decided at the last minute to rig 5.6, very surprised it paid off, finally cracked the 35 ;-)

Was a very busy day with kites and windsurfers so not the most easiest of days sailing!

Alot of the mob out which was great.

Wellington Point, QLD, AU, Falcon 104, Warp 6.8 and Viper fin 35. Looked like a good day. Had a few runs down the bank and then when I had enough of dodging kiters and lack of wind I decided to try for the NM. 300 m from my goal a big bang and the mast broke just below the boom. I am in the middle of the bay and all I could do was to spend the next two hours swimming to shore. Just my luck, twenty minutes sailing two hours swimming and the wind seemed to be getting better all the time. I don't think I will use my Warp again. I seem to have lost my Christmas kilos and the shark did not eat me. Two positive things I can take out of this.

Somehow managed to squeeze 40 knots out of my nearly 5 year old speed board and old sail on a classic Wello day. Always looking for more wind but cannot complain about the conditions today. After dragging Tonys' gear back to shore I grabbed the JP and headed for a NM run down to Lotta Creek. No one down there when I arrived and just going off with plenty of wind and flat water. Wished I had the speed board after getting 37 knots on the JP but the storm was getting closer so stayed to the last to get a decent hour.

Totally stuffed!!!
