3909 days ago Melville, a quick after work sail - Futura 101, S1 5.3, 32cm Starboard fin. This fin is annoying me with spin outs at exactly the same spot in the river just as I get blasting

3909 days ago Safety Bay, great day out. 5.8 Koncept and CA speed. GT31 display said 36 but more than happy with 35.75 - I think I would have been dodging a kiter during the run as well. Its taken since March 2011. so 3 years to improve on the last safety bay PB. Good fun with Windxtasy and JJ, a few other regulars turned up in the late shift.

3909 days ago 2 categories Great session at PW. It was one of the very few days where everything lines up just right. The tide was perfect @ 0.8m, the wind angle perfect @ SSW, not too much weed, hardly any boats and no kites... if there was another 5 knots of breeze it would have been epic.
Still a lot of fun. Nice steady breeze, surprised at my 1 hr and my Nm has 3 gybes in it!

Fun day with Anita and Jeff, later Rod and Slowy. Wind 18 to 22 to about 5 when I quit.
Had so much fun with the Mistral 91, didn't bother with the speed board.
Jeff was smokin, huge congrats on the PB

Got down late but still windy so rigged 5.0m on 80l Xfire and 23.5 CL weedy.
But just after I got on the water the wind dropped somewhat, so generally a bit underpowered, until it dropped even more.

3909 days ago Looked at WW about 4 from Mossie side and it looked patchy so went to Dutchies.
Rigged 5.3 (should have chosen 4.5). Reasonable swell so went to try the North side but too much power for top turns.
Wind looked lighter inside on the South side so headed upwind. Some nice floaty jumps amid the mad loopers and the odd section to smack. It became increasingly hard to see people in the water as the sun set and the water became choppier so called it a day.

A fun afternoon cruise at Liptons. Spent most of the afternoon practicing jybes and clocking up a few kms on the old slalom board. However, when a couple of resonable gusts came through I decided to run with them for an NM but couldn't quite get a PB.

Great after-work sesh touring the Swan on my fave combo...M112 + 7.6 TR9 + 38 CL carbon.
Pretty windy at Peli when I arrived just before 4, but I didn't pack anything smaller, cos I always seem to end up regretting rigging anything smaller than the 7.6 for river sessions, so I was pretty lit when I first got on the water.
Had a crack at a mile first run off the beach, but ran out of pressure towards the end.
Pretty rough at Peli, so I decided to mission up to Melville for some runs across the flats. Ocean-like wind swell through the middle of the river made the journey upwind a workout.
Melville was the usual gust lottery on the run, but I managed a few good ones.
Headed downwind after the breeze dropped at Melville and finished off with a few runs down the point at Peli. Great sesh

Went on a mission for nm PB but had to cut it short after hurting my back on the weekend. Had one run at a nm but the bumps where way to painfull.

Late post owing to statewide internet stuff up by Telstra. It has been most annoying not to be able to see how everyone went yesterday. I had to txt JJ to find out how he went. Great week day team turn out guys, and well done Hardpole on the PB. 4 top 5 scores this season, must be a bit of a technique breakthrough there, as you said the board and sail are the same. Well done!
It was FANTASTIC to sail the speed run at Safety Bay yesterday. It was like coming home. Just needed more of the old gang to make it a real party. You were missed Lao. I had forgotten how especially consistent SB wind can be. Had an appointment so I had to make it a quickie. Was never really powered up and my peak speed was on my first run. Mind you I had to doge kiters or freestylers on just about every run, and I kept picking up weed even with the weedy. The shipping channel has spoiled the start of the run with some whoop de dos just as you are settling in and it will take some working out where the best line is now. Wind was picking up when I had to leave. Not happy with 30's anymore. 34 is the new 30. Next time . Later in the week could be good.
