bit disappointing that so many scary runs equated to not very fast. Was quite flat, not as flat as NE but a hell of a lot flatter than Canton. The angle took us way into the weed bank, expecting disaster all the time but was OK. Ancient Seatrend, 5.9, !( MUF. Had to stop every 2nd run to clear as muc h weed as I could from the front of the fin, will need to stick some thicker stuff under it to stop it collecting a moustache. Lots of guys out, including Mark Jordan all the way from  Porty M.

Nice numbers fellas! Greg 38 knots is smoking I dont even drive that fast. Teralba was shockingly bad today. violently gusty. I had a couple of gusts that actually sucked the wind towards the gust and created a mini vacuum before crash tackling me with a 25 to 35 knot wall of hurt. I'm not exagerating lol you could see the wind doing swirly ones inside the gust it was feral. I Would have barely clocked up 20 kms today and I feel like I've been trampled by a heard of bullocks. Lots of gear changes and lots of arm work for not much sailing but that's mid winter westerlies for you. They are a different animal to august westerlies, at least at teralba anyway.

Please be careful in that shallow water people. It can be very tempting to push your luck but I know first hand what the consequences of coming off in 12 inches of water can be.

Sue it was just an evil breeze at teralba. Nothing I haven't seen before pretty normal for july actually. Give it 4 weeks and it will settle down a bit.

Sue I came a croppa at the sand islands about 20 odd years ago. I powderised my left knee. Fractured the tibial plateau clean in half and took the fibula with it. 11 weeks off work and 13 weeks off the water and a permanently painful knee. I was only doing about 20 knots on an old F2 lightning.  I did a bit of sailing at the sand islands last summer but one day I found myself creeping closer to the shallows and I pulled the pin right there and decided to give shallow stuff a miss after that.

Killer speed Greg. Good to see you mate and finally get a sail with you again - It was good following you round on a couple of runs to get a feel for Peel St. Thanks for the hints and tips of the place - love it there and will be back for sure!
