Not one of my better Melville sessions!

At least the gaffa tape on my sail held.

A couple of runs before the wind swung and then just not comfortable in nasty chop with big bullets coming through at times.

Just couldn't string a naughty together today.

Good to see JJ and Snake out smoking around. Hope the thumbs ok, Snake.

On the water at 8 just at the westerly swing - couldn't find any flat spots for speed so waited for the biggest gusts (in the rain) to go for two NMs instead.

Both NMs were unnecessarily long as the first part was the fastest but stoked as both were over 31 knots.

A few proper gusts out there today (maybe 27 knots) - watched Jake smash out a quick NM after a little persuasion - great effort after not sailing all winter. Laughing

Morning @ Melville with JJ, Paddy and Lao. Some good gusts but feeling very rusty. Crushed my thumb in a catapult and can't move it at all now - derigging was not fun. - might be a few more months of hibernation for me Frown On a more positive note, smoking mile JJ !!Cool I should have done a few more to back you up but it wasn't to be today.

Safety Bay, WA, AU

Traded my naish fsw for a RRD Xfire 102 yesterday and wanted to try it out, although it was probably a little on the larger side for the conditions, i beat my 2 sec pb on it fairly quickly, was a 34.5 from memory. Then decided to try out JJ's F2 xs slalom 81 and thats the board that gave me the max 2 sec for the day, woohooo another PBLaughing. Came fairly close to a stack at 34kn as the board slipped out sideways, lots of my body bits clenching up but i got away with it luckily.

I wonder what i may have achieved with a different sail, the one i was using is a crossover type sail.

Not perfect conditions down at the pond, with around 150-200mt of flattish water to play with and a westerly wind. I decided to give it away in the end as the tide dropped away and half a dozen kiters sharing the flat section made it too unsafe with the westerly.

Great to see 2 kids out there braving it too. Those boys were doing really well in the wild conditions.

The Coastal Speed Team were smashing it out there too along with master Slowboat, some impressive results sure to follow.

Good day really

Melville Beach, WA, AU

nice to get out for a sail after missing out last weekend

and good to catch up with a few team members i haven't seen for a while

got better wind than i thought but the water state wasn't great and there was no wind inside the bar so all my numbers are from out in the middle of the river

no crashes today which was nice, still managed to brake a foot strap screw early on luckily enough got it fixed so i didn't have to go home disappointed

very comfortable on the gear, butchered lots of gybes but the kit just wouldn't spit me off

all up a nice sail but no great numbers still feeling pretty satisfied

Jake - hope the thumb will be ok, at least you'd already done the NM Wink

Cheers Fangy, be interested to see how you guys went today down in the chook pond. We were expecting less wind otherwise Mark and I would have made the trip.

Huge naughty for the conditions, JJ, and great backup on the naughty Jake! We moved up one place on the ladder.  Awesome alpha for the conditions too! Sorry to hear about the thumb Jake, I hope it's just bruised. We need you sailing with us!

Well done to everyone who sailed today. It looked like quite testing conditions. Patrick, I know what you mean about being weary from yesterday. I was hoping to go to Safety Bay but my muscles are still tired from yesterday, and I didn't think it would be safe to sail in that kind of wind. I still can't sail on consecutive days - I would have waited for today but I thought the wind would all be over by the time I had done my airport run.
