ratz (10868km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU got there to whitecaps and stretch planing nicely. by the time i had rigged it had died in the arse the bendyman made the sacrifice and went in to derigg and thank god it came in. ended up being a bit overtanked on the 122 rrd x fire with a 40 choco weedy with a 8.6 severne turbo.
WazzaYotty (2200km): Coodanup, WA, AU Great fun afternoon having finally decided to decommission the just-rigged 6.4 m2 NP Excess and go for something more substantial....the Challenger 7.8 m2 with Delta 22 / F2 Vento. Once upwind there were some great reaches across super silky smooth stuff....magic. Moved the front and rear footstraps outboard so was slightly nervous at first but am , after a few stalls, gradually getting used to it. Mr. Delta behaved himself again. Stroppo showed us how to barefoot ski-sail downwind..mmm.. I might need to leave that out of my repertoire I think....although I have done it several times unintentionally prior to sudden separation. Fangy had the big girl out ( and very grateful she was too) and was skimming along upwind of me stealing what little air I had. Very selfish. Decrepit appeared to be sailing a board that looked remarkably normal with regard to the number of fins, footstraps, masts and crew so maybe the R&D budget is stretched. What IS going on in that shed? Overall, however, positive progress is being made, albeit at a glacial pace. I remain, whilst on the tablets, cautiously optimistic.
Stretch (31360km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU Started off teaching my son to windsurf on an F2 Phoenix 320 & 4.2. He had a good go, then I was able to con mum into picking him us so i could keep going. Rigged up the Iso101 & X15 6.4m2 as it looked like the wind was picking up - big mistake -skunksville! Persevered for a while, then had a brainwave and took the Phoenix out. Success, happily motoring along in the cruiseliner at a decent pace. Then realised the wind had actually picked up and chucked the Iso back on and went out for another 20min. Felt like warp speed after the Phoenix. Not really the best wind today, but good to be out with the other Bunburyites
Bender (23190km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU weak wnw'er and bugger all water. 10-15knts R4 7.8m, Isonic 97. 36Vector Slalom weedy A very flaccid!
fangy (22667km): Having established at the team dinner last night that Elmo continues to be a mystery to medical science, Wazza continues to be a mystery to all, Hardie dances on the balls of his feet only when he is leaning left, Evets dances on the balls his feet with a leaning that is just plain bent, Basil has less watercraft than his wife has kitchen appliances and Cap'n Calm still can eat his body weight in icecream I was keen to see what sort of team would muster in the cold hard light of a Sunday arvo. Despite Cap'n Calm only having a shallow talent pool to muster from we were given the usual team strategic briefing and instruction. At least I think we where. I wasn't paying attention. I have found this more efficient than listening attentively and then forgetting.
Firstly the water. It was just like Shanes 'Milk and Honey' video in places, but the weird bit was there were times when there was a gust coming through and the water did not change so you ended up planing on glass. When you were grovelling it was like being in a glass bottom boat, with all the flora and fauna on display. I never once got frustrated with it - it was an experience in itself. When the breeze did pick up there was a time that the biggest waves were my wake and I actually felt a tad guilty about messing up the groove in smooth for everyone else! Coming a close second was Stropoo wearing a target on his back today. Usually the chances of me spraying or spaying the Great Nanna himself are about as good as looking at a senate election ballot paper and not going,'WTF?". On top of that he did a sensational job of wind sacrifice, so that the best conditions came in when he got out. And third was seeing Wazza looking completely sorted on his Delta and cranking some downhill runs when powered up. For me I had a great session, doing circuit work with the ever reliable Capn Calm. Even my dodgy knee remained trouble free! Apres session I got a bit too excited with my vocab which was poor form - apologies to all. But as the rain moved in it was brilliant to finally meet Adam having spoken to him so much about the reincarnation of Loreena B. After talking to him, I dont know if I can be looking forward to the Joan Rivers anymore, but I think I am. A brilliant Groove in Smooth - Top Ten Fangy Day for sure
As is always the way, as soon as I had closed off the orders for another round of Deltas someone pops up asking for one. So once again, if you want one, pm (fangman) me on Seabreeze and if I get enough interest to make it worthwhile offsetting the freight costs I will do another order. Allow six weeks.

Man Over Board (68km): Coodanup, WA, AU
Great to get on the water again albeit a bit of a grovel! Got a couple of runs out in the middle Todays gear was the Tabou Speedster 100lt, CLSL2 38cm and 2012 Ka Koncept 7.5m 0 x Cobblers 1 x Crab nip Winning! Good to catch up with the Mobsters!
Decrepit (54652km): Hui was playing silly buggers again, while the rest of us rigged up Pepe was flying around, but after he came in and we went out the wind came close to stopping altogether. Pepe was going so well at times I was tossing up rigging the 5.8, very glad I didn't, instead I rigged the 6.6 on the 53 with Keefs 17cm delta. The sikaflex fix seems to be working well, didn't collecy any weed at all. But as Wazza says, the slow tack up into the weedy smooth was well worth the effort. Because there were the occasional nice gusts, and planning over clear flat water is always great. Even off the plane, the view of the bottom was very entertaining, I especially liked the the light refracted thru the tiny swells making moving rainbows on the weed. Great to meet Adam at last!! hope he's got some data on his GPS so he can post. Also joined on the water by Fangy, Stroppo and Rod. There were also a few on the shore, I guess they were put off by the fickle wind.
