Stanley, TAS, AU, Good sail at east inlet early this morning. The wind dropped out about 40 min into the hr,

But apart from that it was very smooth. Wind averaging 15, gusting to 20.

Gusty NEaster. Over powered in the gusts on that combo but it got me through the lulls still planning.

GPS5 comp day. The decision was either get the NEaster early or wait for the southerly change in the middle of the day. Didn't trust that the southerly would come in all that strong and thought it would be a big front ender then drop out just as quick. I choose wrong.Cry The southerly hammered in for the whole afternoon. After a hectic week at work I was too bugged to go around chasing the wind.Yell So this is my results. should be some interesting speeds from the southerly sailors.

First sail at Rosey :) Wind up and down but came in pretty well late. Nice session with Jas and Geoff until the 'Team' had to go into rescue mode to retrieve Geoff from the channel with a broken boom and an outgoing tide!! Great job Ben!

Good sail today until boom broke in middle of river on outgoing tide.

Boom broke on mast end then broke of on other side when straightened

out so could not even switch it to good side . Tied outhaul to end of boom

and flew sail ,  made ground for a while then tide got me . I was only

out sailing at the time but the guys on shore swung in to action and effected an

awsome rescue.  I degrigged sail and was towed in by Ben using a couple of

tie downs, worked great.

Thanx to Ben, Johnny , Jason and Steve ! , fantastic team rescue .

Hey guys well done everyone in the GPS 5 shootout. I am on my way to Melb on the Spirit. Taking a car over for my sister. I have no internet on my laptop and the hot spot is not working. So I will post tomorrow. Feeling pretty shattered after this morning at Pitwater. Had the 7.8 on the 107 and it came in cranking for a couple of hours. Needed the 6.2 or 7.0 as I was really overpowered. Sipping on a 6 pack in my room, happy days.
