Melville - Isonic 101, Drake 38, CR 6.5.  Just bought a used Code Red 6.5 which was needed today as I only had a 7.0. Unfortunately the sail had a missing cam, and the batten was not working.  Was overpowered mostly, but felt wrong.

Starting to learn more about going downwind to get speed.  Any tips appreciated.

Safety Bay, WA, AU

6.0 overdrive, 90 Xfire and JJ"s 25 weedy, thanks JJSmile

cruised round in the pond practicing gybes and waiting for the tide to rise enough to have a go down the speed strip.

The tide was finally high enough around 5pm, the only problem was that as soon as JJ pulled out his speed board the wind started to fade Cry so I didnt get an oportunity to put the pedal down on the speed strip.

Oh well, next time....

Pelican Point, WA, Patrik FR125, 5.6m Cross

Fun sail in a strong seabreeze with some nice flat spots due to the low tide and snot weed. Plenty of people out enjoying the conditions.

Safety Bay, WA

Fun afternoon with Jake and Allan - on the water at 4pm, a nice 20 to 24 knots. Had a go at a few alphas while waiting for the tide to make the bar sailable.

Hanging out to try my new Tribal assy, so grabbed the speed board at 5pm (tide just ok) - wind promptly dropped to 15 to 18 knots.

Grovelled out to the point and got one sweet run. The run was super shallow but I didn't hit anything - so happy to get back down my favourite speed run again Cool.

Assy fin felt sweet, good lift in not much wind and got back upwind fine. Can't wait for more wind.

Pinnaroo Point, WA, AU JP 83l wave, 21weed, 6m gastra remedy. Wave sailing on the ocean. I did not have flat water nearby. Still it was extreme fun and  getting close to 30 felt like getting close to space Smileeven though I remembered all Mark's and JJ'a notes and

not to be scared. Congtasts to all the PB's.  I am hopping  to travel to flat water tomorrow.

Ran into Mark at PW. Unfortunately the wind was gusty and shifting all over the place. Nice to get out for a cruise.

Carlisle St, Safety Bay, WA,

At first I rigged th xfire 102 and 7.0 reflex as it was struggling to blow 15 knots. Then it was a few kms of feeling comfy followed shortly after by being overpowered. Yay I get enough wind again to give the mistral slalom 91 another decent run. Tried a c3 sting2 fin I've re boxed into a 27cm weedy. My god it's fast, felt super slick today. I was already happy with that board, now I'm even happier, nice work Mr Lockwood.

Bit choppy out in the open and pengos but the pond was nice and flat, just a bit more water would have been nice.

Saw Ac1 belting around in the pond. Had to leave at 3 for work but glad I got nearly 2 hrs of good fun.

Went to Dutchies around lunchtime and it was looking ordinary. I was just about to go and have lunch when JJ appeared and the waves picked up!

Rigged 5.3 in anticipation of an increasing wind and took the quad. Non planing to start but soon picked up and some fun waves coming through.

Wind picked up further so changed to the twin. Wind was really gusty and quite cold! When the 5.3 became too much decided to head home and get the slalom gear.

Wrong time to cross the river as I got caught in the after school traffic!Yell Arrived at Wallyworld to find not much wind and the Lockwoods on a downwind SUP mission. Rigged anyway.Chris arrived just as I was heading out.

Best wind at the start but the tide was super low. Had to walk out well past the jetty to get past all the rocks!Surprised

Wallyworld didn't disappoint with its usual gusty on off 5-20!

No wind up the top so the best runs were running out in to mid river in to the no wind zone past the jetty. Hoping that the wind didn't disappear leading to a long swin in offshore conditions! Managed 3 decent runs at 34 display but that was it.

A few reasonable alphas but always running in to holes.

Chris was cruisng around getting some sweet runs through the shallows but I was too chicken and stayed mostly outside the yellow buoys.

Great team turnout guys, and a handy boost up the ladder! I guess my sacrifice paid off after all.

Super hour Jake, and what a gybe! JJ!  Surprised Laughing Congratulations on a huge PB alpha. Great backup for Jake, and half a knot faster than your previous PB. I didn't know you had it in you! Maybe you should practice alphas more often? Might be a good thing the tide stayed low...

We're #3 on the alpha list! That hasn't happened for a long time (welcome back, Jake). What a pity snakes hibernate in winter. Frown

Alan, congratulations on your alpha PB. It helps to get the proximity right. Embarassed And a 2 sec PB too. Definitely a good day.

Good ocean speeds Lezz, and on wave kit too. Pinnaroo Point looks like getting good wind tomorrow afternoon too.
