fangy (22667km): Fangyland with the entire cast of Ben Hur. I was woefully underdone but had a fabulously relaxing sail to unwind after yesterday. I will post more later - Ballet concert calls, but highlight of the day was sailing with the Chrome Dome himself again.
Sailing with Hardie = Top Ten Fangy Day
Decrepit (54652km): Fangy you %$#@ same size sail as me, I felt underdone, but you were faster! And not just a bit! Should be a law against it! But all the same, was fantastic to sail with such a great crowd, people every where including 3 kiters, who kept to the launch area. Great to have Hardie and Binny turn up as well. And the saga of decrep's rock and the random post continues, the rock is no longer quite as random, and has been renamed, girlspeed/decrep's rock. Penny's fin has given us another bearing on where it's hiding, about 40m W of the rock. I'll check girlspeed's file and see if I can oin it down a bit closer. Strop has kindly donated some reflective tape, so if we find it, it should be well marked. In the meantime stay a good 50m clear on the western side of the post! Fortunately I got to Nairns just as Stretch was pulling out, and stopped him going searching for the launch spot. Fangy arrived shortly after and lent him a delta, good job to, it wouldn't have been as much fun on a 26cm weedy. I went with the 5.8 koncept, noticed that the luff is loose at the boom batten, a shim in there just might make it a bit faster? pugged into the 48cm board with keef's 17cm delta. Felt powered up across the wind so went for some alphas again, but for some reason my best one was 10m wide, thought I was gybing quite tight and heading back where I'd come from, but this one drifted downwind on the outwould leg. Lots of smooth out there today, but due to very low tide, the dense weedy areas were quite draggy even with a 55deg fin.
Elmo (31521km): Tabou Rocket wide 108L & Elmo SS 38cm, TAbou Manta 54 & Pepe weed 27cm NP RSR E6 6.4m. Was nice to get out before it started blowing hard and settle into the session today started out on the Rocket and banged out an hour which was a lot of fun and lumpy. wind was getting a bit silly out in the middle and was getting pushed downwind so went in and thought I'd change to a smaller board. So out with the trusty 54 and the rockin Pepe weed, took of and it was the right choice felt a lot easier with the wind strength, was heading for a good hour till when I was on my third over to Claudesville my boom head rope decideds to come unknotted, Farrrrrrrkk down in the water near the platform bobbing around 25mins trying to get it all hooked back up enough to make it bake to shore, spittin chunks it would have been a good hour but glad to do a bit of jury rigging to get back to base. Great day, feeling the hurt at the moment, Mr Voltarin may come to play soon.
Bully boy fat Basil (4877km): After yesterdays epic conditions today was much more comfortable for me . A very enjoyable sail in good conditions with lots of company, Full respect to all those who had the skills strength and courage to sail so well yesterday
Stretch (31360km): Coodanup, WA, AU i76, Tushy6.4, Delta Weed 20cm First time out at Coodanup, had a real fun sail. Actually enjoyed it much more then yesterday. Sailing on the endless flat waters was a new experience - gybing was great fun. Nice to meet Fangman and Decrepit, and a BIG thanks to Fangy for letting me use his fin.
(Puf-) fin (15562km): PEEL Coodanup, WA, AU. The VULCHEN strikes and pics up the leftovers !!! ? Another fun relacksing sail at fangys with way too many others to mention all, I'll leave that to others.... But wait, theres more,... maybe.....

Bender (23190km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU Iso86, R4 7.0m, 28 bender special weedy
Plenty enough wind but feck all water. Got fed up of dragging the fin through the mud. Even tried a 23cm and it was no better. Gave up after 45mins.
Should have sailed formula on K-Bay |
