Bruce Healey (24292km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Ancient seatrend, 6.6, 24MUF. Big crowd out today, all the usual suspects plus Justin & Dean from Sydney, Paul B, Paul C & Paul D. Wind a bit round to the north so not as smooth as we expect from a NE but it was strong. Great arvo
Tibor (18017km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU What a great arvo that was. Forget the speed so, l tell myself. Tried the 75 wide isonic first with 6.7 overdrive. Got only 30.95 however, the wind wasnt as strong. Then took out the old 59 wide scut down sonic and got this result. The wind picked up and possibly got stronger again but l came in. The story of my life. l did enjoy it with everyone lese. We are lucky to have this place and to get conditions like this. Yeah, the lucky country!
Hugh (11029km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU graet to catch uo with everyone great arvo 15 guys out awesome had a few runs on a 22delta with 7.8 got 34.5 on it not bad for such a big fin swapped to 7.0 and 19cm slalom delta
Andrew Haigh (50238km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Falcon 79, Delta 19 and 6.6m. Spin out city at Peel st today. Fairly choppy and fairly windy. Just could find the flat water and wind combination. Big crowd out today. Great group of guys (& Gal) to sail with.
Byron Mcilveen (64411km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU 7.6 tr9, RS2 , 22cm delta Could only sail for 1 hr had the arvo off for my eldest son year 6 preso I had to go to, wow growing up. Nice sail was underpowered with 7.6 it was arm chair sailing. Sydeny had gust at 40 Nora over 30 newcastle under 20. It was all down south today hence the trip. Nora is realy close but we had just over 20 when I was there but it did pick up as I was leaving and after I left at 3 30 every one tells me. Great turn out unreal to see so many people out and nice shot Andy me folowing you. Great sailing with every one.
sboardcrazy (25098km): 20-25kts + Ne Peel st Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU 1st time on the 79ltre Fanatic Falcon - 6m overdrive then 4.8m sailworks Hucker and 19cm delta ( good fin that Greg!) As Eminem says ' Geez how can sh..t be so easy???!' B hell what a little ripper!... I can now go upwind at similar angle to everyone else, gybes like its on rails and handles bearways in chop better than my 78ltre Pocket wave! It's default gybe radius is much wider than my other boards ( used to waveboards) so I will have to learn to tighten them to get alphas but I did some lovely planing gybe today! pity they were too wide for alphas...I reckon they would have been 20kts + The pocket wave would have been skittering around on the chop and spinning out bearing away in that chop ( c 4-6" ) not a lot of smooth today.. Can't wait to get it going in some flat stuff! First time I've experience a board rising up as it takes off( up on the fin??) felt unreal.. Best Xmas pressie and buy I've ever had.. Only thing I don't like are the footstraps. My toes on the rear foot were killing me..not sure if I had them through too far? Just used it setup as I got it - booties on. I'd only ever tried the 6m overdrive on the 78ltre pocket wave once - I was overpowered but it felt like sh..t.. on this one it felt great!First time I've used such a large sail on such a small board. I thought I'd struggle but no hassles. Even overpowered on the 4.8m it was a breeze getting upwind.. very happy little vegemite.. Happy with that speed in the chop for the first use.. Ok Mick how strong do you think it was? Made my 3000kms too.. Yep big crowd out today. |
