Bruce Healey (24292km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU IT DOESN'T COME THAT GOOD too often. A BIT nne BUT SOME REALLY GOOD GUSTS & OLANING ALL THE TIME. vERY HAPPY CHAPPY. rs1, 6.6, 23 WEEDIE. The whole world was there, too many to name but including Justin & ricardo from Sydney & almost the whole Lake Maccas team,
Tibor (18017km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Great afternoon. Not as much wind as the forcast but not bad at all. Local knowlage and right fin selection is important. Bruce was the man of the day today. CONGRATULATIONS!
sboardcrazy (25098km): 15-20kts NNE Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU- 6.4m Naish Bullit + 79ltre Falcon + 20cm delta I did it! I wanted to try and get enough kms to get to 5000kms.. As I average about 30kms a session that takes a long time! ( 3 years to be exact)....Didn't think I'd be able to as mostly upwind sailing and short runs.. Boy I'll sleep well tonight! Got the bullit rotating well but boom batten is too short so wrinkles and not very full although Tibor gave some tips that will help next time. I like its light weight but was underpowered a lot. Gusts always seemed to be when I was working upwind.. Got 2 powered runs in the flats.. need a 25cms weedie so I'm game to go out into the small chop where there is more wind.I don't trust the deltas. Got some killer gybes ( for me) today . Very happy but crap alphas as too wide and at the end of the run or in so far ran out of wind on the exits.Did a run next to Mark and gybed about the same time and hios gybe was half the radius of mine ( nice planing one but...) so will have to try and tighten them as I feel I lose too much ground each time i gybe. That's why I don't gybe in the chop. I keep saying it but this season I'm definitely going to have to learn to tack! The 6.4m will be good as lighter.. Stuffed now..will slepp like a log.. Heaps out. Bruce , Tibor , Andrew, Cluffy, Mick , Milsy , Larko, Wayne, Paul , Rick and many others..Think there were a few sickies today..
Cluffy (4190km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU R4 7.0 metre, falcon 90, delta 19. Epic, disastrous, catastrophic, cataclysmic, apocalytic, biblical, FAIL. Really dissapointed with that speed considering the gear I have and the wind strength. My sail is decent and my board, a 2015 model 90 litre falcon is bloody awesome. I worked my ringhole off for 3 hours... so yeah dissapointed. One useful thing that happend is I hooked into the leward harness line during a gybe and then got catapulted and the mast came up under my package and did a great job of crushing my nuts. The long wide carves in the shallow stuff were fun. I'd just like to apolagise for breathing useful oxygen.
Andrew Haigh (50238km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU RS2 and 6.6m - Never really got particularly windy, but a fun session and a big crowd
Byron Mcilveen (64411km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU TR11 7.7, RS2 exocet 90l , 22 delta home made carbon. Looked terrible but was a realy nice sail before going to work. so many people out it was crazy for a week day. shame I went to work as it just started picking up. the graph showed it at 25 knots but yep we had 15. When I left the graph went to 30 so I supose they got 20. was underdone , fin seal got lost so was geting weed and the down haul cleat needs sharpening as down haul sliped around 15mm whilst sailing giving me a bit more back hand than I should have. Reely great seing so many people. Massive congrates to Bruce and Tibor. Bruce it was my doing as I left and gave you the wind LOL. not to mension the new exocet. well done team good stuff. |
