Fangys with Capn Calm,'Ken, Basil,Hardly, Shanno, Grumpy and Gspeed, Stroppo, and probably a few more that I have forgotten.

Fangys weedy goodness seems to get under your skin and then you start contemplating the big issues in life. For instance, Female pandas have no place in heaven. Yes, yes I know you are all outraged already, but think about it.  One bonk per year and then only maybe if the bamboo shoots are arranged all fengshui like. Surely St Peter can't be rewarding that sort of behaviour? He was a bloke after all and that would surely a  violation of the Fair Go Rule.
I suppose it could be worse. Imagine if you are a fundamental Islamist martyr. Having blown yourself to bits in a crowded market place on the promise of 72 virgins waiting for you in heaven, you stump up to the gates and find out that you didn't read the fine print. The reason there are so many virgins in heaven is because they are female pandas.

Somehow I seemed to have digressed a little.Huey made a better effort at turning up today, but I got over enthusiastic and rigged too small. This meant the  Vintage Missy Screamer, Koncept 6.6 Delta 20 hit the drink today (Vivien has had her nose job successfully signed off by Dr Decrepit).

To start with I really struggled to get out of the Nairns Black Hole. Vivien has a small bum and my Neanderthal weight sinks her pretty quickly. I just could not quite get her to get up and boogie. I  was just about to spit the dummy and come in and rig bigger when I finally broke free and was off up into the smooth.  The resultant lack of puff from Huey gave me only a few short runs with any power. It did however make Basil's day as he me smoked me off time and time again...He now has a target on his back :-)

The only thing I could really have a crack at was some U turns and enjoy throwing a relatively small sail around. I was pretty happy with the results with a stack of 20+ turns. And that was pretty much my day. Friendly mob, blue skies, warm water and an enjoyable sail. Top Ten Fangy Day Cool

Footnote: As I was leaving Brad Williams 0432671428 pulled up next to me to show me a Dugite he had just caught from the house down the road. He was there earlier this week catching a Tiger snake. He is a registered snake catcher. So keep an eye out peeps as the weather warms and these little critters become active.Surprised

Slowly getting back into it, feeling a touch fitter each time I sail, the leg is certainly not 100% back to normal, but good enough to be sailing well.  Tabou Manta 59, TR-9 6.3m Delta 19, probably rigged too small felt underpowered the whole session but I prefer the smaller gear and should also mention these Delta's while they have their faults, they are really fantastic for shallow water and heavy weed.  I was sailing over glassy water with weed on the surface, amazing feeling.

Tabou Rocket Wide 108L, NP RSR E7 7.0m , Elmo SS 38cm (all for sale)

I've had it! I'm throwing my toys out of the cot and giving up windsurfing (this year) to take up the competative Roshambo, not the pussy asian version but the serious competition http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=roshambo.

I don't even need to post the graphs to tell you when I hit the water

It seems that I am finally begining to improove at this.I did enjoy watching the bigger(thats a polite way of saying fat)guys grovelling in the lulls. However my triumphs were short lived. As soon as the wind increased I was out the back door again.

A great days sailing with great company .Good to see Kaison sailing in todays wind

Carlisle St, Safety Bay, WA, AU.  CA52, Tushy5.8, Vector weedspeed 23cm

Had a great day today, picked up a new to me 120L board in Rockinghamm then headed over to Safety Bay where there was a good 18-25kt wind blowing.  The usual choppy conditions, but i didnt care, it was great to be out in some decent wind. My 2nd session and the CA and im loving it, it rockets throught the chop -good fun.  pleased with my stats given the water conditions. Still getting the hang of gybing it, but if i can keep the power on it carves nicely. Looking forward to using it in the Mandurah smoooooth!  Definitely a top 10 day for me! LaughingLaughingLaughing

broke a harness line, so got an old 28cm line out of my tool kit.  used to use them all the time, but have gone to 30 now. 28 feels all wrong now, definitely sticking to the longer lines

I know I shouldn't be, but I feel vaguely dissatisfied with todays sail, there seemed to be a lot more wind than yesterday, but I didn't go much faster.

Breaking a harness line at the far end of the course just as my speeds were starting to improve didn't help either. By the time I got back my arms were too stretched to be keen on going back out.

I guess today's fin experiment didn't work all that well. I tried the 17cm starboard assy 50deg in the 48cm board and the 6.3 KA race. Combo wasn't too bad in the gusts, but wasn't real comfortable in the lulls. Think I should have tried the 20cm in the 48, don't think I've done that yet.

I'm also going to have to try Strops alpha method, come in fast from downwind to get some speed into the inward leg. I've just got to learn to judge 230m somehow.

Coodanup, WA, AU,

Some of the numbers not quite as good as yesterday, but it was like chalk and cheese. It was just nice and windy today and so much better. The best wind I have had in ages. Certainly didn't expect any PBs but I guess my best distance wasn't as good as I imagined. All in all a great day. Feeling pretty tired now. Expecting to sleep well tonight.

Was great to see so many happy faces out today

Great PB's Basil.   Keep the Senior flag flying until I'm back next weekend. Relief is at hand. (Movicol springs to mind).

Elmo, what's the asian pussy version and why is it not for serious competition? Ah, on re-reading I might have grabbed that the wrong way.

Great PB's Basil and 'ken. I might have done better on distance if I hadn't broken that harness line.

Well done guys, this has moved us up the ladder!

I just cant see this one ending well for Elmo. Have you seen his legs - I think just about anyone would play Roshambo with him on the basis of getting whacked by a floppy piece of red fur is a small price to pay.Undecided
