Coal Point, NSW, AU

CA70 and Maui TR9 6.6m, after yesterdays sail I decided to go with the big board. Which was a mistake as the wind was a pretty constant 15-25kts.

Felt more like winter in the rain, Hugh and Byron out. Plus nice to meet Jordan who was wave sailing off Coalie

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

Early shift today, nice sail at Brandon Lane & home in time to mow the lawn...bugger its raining, oh well, it can wait.

Tibor, me, Steve, Mattv went from Buffo & was a good crash test dummy. Johnny, Pete & sue came later after the good breeze was disappearing. Was a bit up & down but a lot of good periods with good bearaways & easy getting back upwind. Pretty flat too.

Exocet RS4 / RS6 / Formula

Mauisails TR8 7.0 / Titan 9.0 - Wind ESE 5-20 knots

3 board/2 sail day!  Very gusty and wet.   Overpowered, underpowered and everywhere in between.  Fingers crossed for more consistent wind this week.

5-20kts SE Buff Pt Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU. 1st sail for 2016 + 1st sail on the 'new' board - 89ltre Fanatic falcon. 6.4m Naish  Bullit - 89ltre FF + 20cm delta then 25cms tribal weedie.

Went to Brandon lane and the guys were going well . Stuffed around trying to work out how strong it was ( no wind in close) and decided to go to Buff Pt where it was more onshore. I wanted to try the new board - usually the gusts would have suited the 79ltre but in the flats there was mostly stuff all with the occasional puff so the extra litres were needed.

89ltre-  Pros- love the way it takes off when the wind hits it ( so light!) , did my best planing gybe for ages in the flat- didn't lose any speed on the gybe so its going to be good for that. Alpha not as good as I'd hoped but probably only doing 23kts odd on entry and exit. Much more comfy and easy to practise my stance etc in the gusty conditions.

cons- because its so light and also  +25 on my weight it bounces a lot in the chop especially gybing so I'm really going to have to commit and use mast foot pressure. Have to make sure I only use it in gusty 12-18kts oFf Coal ( which is what I bought it for) and not stay out in more or it will be a handful.

Haven't sailed Budgy in that direction before and found it a bit hard to get upwind ( lack of wind didn't help). Only got a few gusts in the flats. Best wind out in the chop- the am crew used all the wind..Delta was spinning out in the chop so came in and put the 25cm tribal on. Spun out a bit with that but moved the harness lines back and seemed better. If you could get consistent wind in the flats in that driection it would be brilliant as longer runs.Tongue out

Good fun when you got a gust but often it wasn't long enough to even get going. This am would have been fun by the looks of it.

Tibor, Bruce + another from Brandon, Milsy , Mick , Frothie, Mat me , later Wayne from Buff Pt. Wayne had a lousy day - 1 run and his mast separated from the board and spent 20mins self rescuing.

Didn't mind the rain sailing even if I had to sail without my glasses but it was the pits getting dressed in the pouring rain..Frown Flooding everywhere so the lake level will be up more after this.

Coal Point, NSW, AU RS2 exocet , TR11 6.6 Maui, v max 33.

nice sail enjoyed it with Andy and Hue.

it was a strange direction very rough but we found some nice places to put the foot down working up to belmont bay and sand islands.

Its good to be able to put the foot down in those conditions.

Bugger . I would have loved to have been there with more wind. I'll launch at Brandon next time as it isn't as bad to get back as I thought and puts you straight out into the flats.
