prety happy with that speed on slalom gear in chop.

FF79 and 6.6m 28cm 45Deg weedie

Water still very deep, so no flat water. Pretty strong early on, although I missed the best of it.

Dropped off around 10.30 am

Continuous rain heavy at times, really cold standing around in the rain even with winter wet suit.

Milsy kept us all entertained with his own brand of witty banter/insightfullness/BS

5-18kts SSW -S Buff Pt Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU - 6.4m Naish Bullit + 79ltre Falcon + 25cms tribal weedie then 7.8m OD with 89ltre falcon + 31cm weedie

Grrr.. the graph says it all.. should have got there earlier or later.

Hard to get enthused when its 15 degree and raining..Arrived and rigged the 6.4m as I got 20kts on the meter off the point so prob 15-25kts. Bit worried as Byron was having a ball on his 6.6m SurprisedUndecided.. resigned to being overpowered so I would be powered up in the lee. Huh! Wind died as soon as I hit the water..Stuffed around  enjoying the challenge of trying to get planing and getting upwind with the little board.. Only got in the straps once.. in the fornt occasionally. There was some flatter sections so the earlier guys would have had a ball! grr.

Getting a bit dodgy so came in for a break..board sunk in the lee and I was lucky as I could touch the bottom so had a 200m walk into shore.

A few out planing occasionally and dogging the rest. Decided if I was going to be wet and miserable I may as well be sailing so I rigged the 7.8m sail on the 89ltre. Never gone that large before and expected to drop the sail and have a swim in but great fun! 5-12kts wind and got planing in c 10kts. The falcon is so light it accelerates quickly in a gust. Up near the mast and not in the straps but flat and fun! That's the best sail I've had on it so far!

I put the mastfoot forward which helped with the bigger sail and getting upwind but I could feel the board stuck to the water..not that it mattered in those winds! Undecided

A few times today in the shallows ( with both fins) I felt a vibration ( whole tail of the board) and it seemed like the fin was aerated or something.. It didn't spinout although I was subplaning..Stopped and checked and everything ok.. Anyone know what it might have been? Bumped the bottom a few times with the 31cms but not going fast enough to be an issue.

Really died then and rain stopped so a good time to packup- of course the wind is back now I'm home. 50-60mm of rain up here in the last day and the lane was under water again from dam runoff.

Mat , Mick, Byron, Andrew, Forthie, Hugh , Tibor + Steve . Milsy socialised..

A bit more wind would have been great.

arrived late, wind was gone & rain arrived. Waited around with absolute confidence that it would come again & it did, but this time there was no wain & the sun shined. Went with 6.6, RS1, 24 fin but the sail was a bit big so generally I was overpowered, the water was rough & I was uncomfortable. Still a nice arvo, glad to get wet. Tibor, Wayune, Steve, Mat & Glynn Merritt. Troy came at the end.

6.2 reflex, f2 axxis 269, 31 select.

A quick arvo sail, 2nd time i been dwn there, the rain killed the morning session & blow bak in late.

was to windy for the 6.2 but wasnt changing dwn, it was 6ish when we hit the water & an hr was enough,

super choppy & ruff, wasnt smooth like in a ssw bumpy both tacks.

You guys got the best of it! Our internet is dropping in & out. Probably got water in the line from all the rain..Had to wait until it came good to post this.

I'm selling my 2004 corolla hatch  if anyone wants a good reliable car. Household now has a workcar we can use at weekends so it's  surplus to needs. One owner since new - country car so gearbox hasn't had much use- rego till Oct - good tyres. Everything works well.
