Water was about a metre higher than normal which made for short sharp chop . 7.1 was a bit big in the end . Wind really cranked in gusting to 30 knots .
Pity it wasnt flat to get the speeder out , still a nice day on the water. The Bp 42 is an awesome fin , was really putting alot of back foot pressure on it , cranking it upwind doing 28 knots . very impressed with this fin

An interesting day's sailing. Switching between S and SW , up and down and very lumpy.
I enjoyed it still specially sailing in company.
Good day it was though l should have stayed longer as even the sun came out

R4 7.0 metre Falcon 90 litre home made reboxed 40 degree weedie 25 cm.
Waist deep in the section that is usually less than a foot deep. Plenty of pressure though it was really nice. The 7.0 was monster powered up at times but always in a good way. The chop was short and sharp but flat enough to get some speed up. It was way flatter that marmong that's for sure. Gybes were a nightmare at times I counted 6 bounces in one gybe before I finally snuffed it. I'm gobsmacked at how well my home made p.o.s. weedie went. It's 15 year old pointer that I reboxed at 40 degrees and cut the tip off to bring back to 25cm. I sanded the trailing edge to make it as fine as my new fins and took some of the radius off the leading edge. The bloody thing held on like a pig dog on your bollocks even when the board was spazzing out in the choppy stuff. I guess there are merits to people making stuff for their own particular needs. I also got 32.5 out of my old caveman I'm delighted with that. A good solid session I loved it.

Hard day at the office. 6.6, RS1, 23 fin in the morning. Went out & immediately regretted the too big sail, I blame Byron who was making a 7.7 look easy & led me down the overpowered path. Anyway I hacked it for quite a while & came in for lunch, to warm up, eat & rig 5.6. Of course the wind promptly started to drop but I went anyway & it kicked in really strong for the rest of the arvo. Seemed strange sailing without a cooling drizzle & there was this bright thing in the sky which made it warmer & a better arvo.
It is with unbecoming modesty that I accept the winner's trophy in the new GPS category, Most Water Starts in a Session. My success was helped by expertise in the crap. arthritic old man gybe division for which I ought also receive some modest award.
Lots of blokes, Byron trying to copy my crap gybes but failing miserably, Greg K still unable to fly to work, ( don't tell him about Sydney airport), Tibor looking too comfortable, Matt, mick (sorry for spinning out in front of you), Cluffy making me feel even older by cruising round for ages & then coming from Peelie to Buffo & re-rigging for another blast, pete who made the mistake of launching from 7th Ave & having to do a ball tearing downwinder to the not so flat area & later slogging back upwind to get home, Wayno & a few others.
