turned out to be a great day had my first run on a70cm patrik slalom today what a board 10minutes in with the 7 metre and done 37 knots and i cannot believe how nice they are to jibe

spent the rest of the day on usual kit ca58 and 7.0 peak of 40 and ca 47 speed and 6.3 40.5

then had a gear failure and crashed doing 40knots not fun but a great day

well done mick on your pb mate

FF79 then F2 speed board both with 6.6m, should have changed down later in the day.

Saw Byrons huge crash, he doesn't do anything by halves. Never seen a boom in so many pieces.

Wow, the best S=SW I have had at Budgewoi. 20-25 knots, not too gusty & the water so shallow that there were flat sections for good bearaways. Heaps out, Byron ate his gear after hitting something, hopefully no injuries. I may have walked half the distance as so shallow towards the E shore that if you came off plane ingybe it was a walk to deeper water in order to get out.

CA SP44, 5.5, 17 MUF. Sail & fin perfect for the board, did not spin out once.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU RS2 exocet and CA44, maui TR11 6.6, delta19 and 17.

finaly some wind been ages since being on speed board.

started on slalom very underdone but got better and finaly got 37.5 on the slalom and the alpha no doubt. was spining out every where but realy sweet jybing in the flat water it was cool.

when it was windy enough got on the CA44 speed board and straight away crack 40 second run unfortunatly had to go to work when the wind was stsrting to get nice. never got the 6.6 into turbo rang it felt easy today except the fin holding it back.

Had a huge stack at over 40 knots stoped me dead when I hit some wood in the water. totaly destroyed my boom and mast and put a hole in my sail. lucky I am in one piece all be it very sore. expensive day of sailing.

go to bed now after work get up early see if body can sail in the morning.

13-30kts + SSW - S  Buff Pt Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

Yee frickin haa!!!!!!!!!! Finally some wind.. Tongue outTongue out

13-20kts at first so 79ltre falcon + 6.4m Bullit + 19cm delta- grinding with the delta if not hanging off the boom and occasionally bottoming out when gybing. Got 30.8kts with that combo + the alpha .It was a bit hard to get upwind so I got the 89ltre with the same setup andit was easier to get upwind.Wind kicked in so had a hary ride in and I'm glad I went in when I did as picked up a lot.

Heart palps . I'd been out c 2hrs so sat and had something to eat. Andrew said he was going out on his speedboard .I almost whimped after my horrible first sail on my speed board..Still that was after winter when I wasn't very fit and hadn't been on the smaller gear for ages + less wind.

Rigged the 5m OD on the isonic 50 ltre + 17cm delta. B awesome! Loved it .. No trouble starting . Got 7 out of 9 gybes and thought I might have got a decent aplha from some as the fastest I've entered a gybe Surprised ..Must have been too wide .The 17cm delta was  rock solid , board flew upwind , great to gybe and great in the chop. A good size for me in those conditions.  I usually I hate 25kts + as I'm on a board +15 of my weight and it's too big. Now it is going to be my favourite wind combo..Cool Love the isonic! Had a ball..

Had fun bearing off coming into the shore at Buff pt and falling off backwards to stop.. Got the chat as apparently it's dangerous..Smile

My upwind technique wasn't as good as the last few sails but I'm very happy with my sailing.

Heaps out with the carpark overflowing . Byron had a mega stack hitting a log at 40kts- hope he's ok.

Lajos + Alwyn turned up - bit too much for Al although he survived.

Mick , Milsy , Mat , Wayne , Bruce , Tibor , Nigle , Georgio? , Craig , Steve , Frothie + heaps of others. Super flat in the am but 4-6" chop in the stronger wind where I got the 2 sec 34kts.

Dammit I left my gps on driving home in the bloody car!! and what's worse I uploaded it to KA72 already. I've emailed dylan and asked him to zap it for me. The worst part is I did 34 in monster chop at marmong on my falcon 90. I'm stoked with 34 in that stuff but never mind it's a stuff up I did 43 knots driving home.

Well done Lake Mac

Congrats Bruce,  great speed man

Andrew, if you wanna get to the next level you should do what Matty Dowse has done......he got himself a quality mentor. ....

Good to see you and well done mate

Lol's everyone..Thanks Anita.Best sail since LG..SmileTongue out

I think  I should be able to beat that too as I didn't score a decent gust in the flats + I hadn't screwed the front of the delta tight enough so it had a big weed  moustache at the time of the 34kts run..Embarassed. I fixed it when I came back in for a break.

Glad your ok Byron. I was thinking it was an expensive day! If it was anyone else I'd say it would wreck your confidence but I don't think it will slow you down much! Wink

I went over a stick ( big clunk and thought I'd wrecked my fin ) and someone else hit something. Be good if all the new hazards can be marked. maybe get the GPS reading of where you hit and it can be marked?

 Have fun today everyone.Going sailing.

Andrew re speed board now I've shown it who's boss ( shouldn't say that...Undecided) I will be using it whenever I can! Wish we had wind that consistent more often although I was surprised how it glided through the lulls at times.

Top session everyone.   Last time I was there in that kind of wind it was really rough but sounds like the water level is just right now.

Tibor and Cluffy, let me know if I can help you with getting the files sorted out.

Some pics from  the day . I just clicked a few when I'd finished these are on Max megazoom. I have slightly better res versions of these if anyone wants any. I also took a few short videos . If I get the time to edit them together I'll post a link.

 Andrew(?) on his speedboard

 Mick???

Above -  Nigel?

Lajos helping 81year old  Alwyn. He went ok but I told Al he'd picked a rugged day for his first go here and hopefully next time would be kinder.

A few of the boards - there was another 6 or 7 scattered around. Don't know what the locals think! The tiny carpark is in the background. They need more car spaces + some loos! Wink
