Quick sail early. Gusty and cold when I hit the water just after Jason and it still took a good hour before the wind really kicked in. I ended up out of control on the 5.8, with all the late arrivals rigging 5 and smaller. I felt like I left a bit out there today, still it was good to get a real westerly blast. Good luck everyone.
Had to leave before lunch, a lot to do before flying to Bali on a family holiday.
Congrats to Stu on a new 2sec PB. Well done mate.

Never got settled myself. Wishing I had a smaller fin in the kit bag, the BP28 40 degree was both too deep for the very low tide and a real weed magnet in these conditions, did not get 1 weed free run. !! Always next time !!

It didn't happen for me today! Got on the water at about 11am with my smallest sail and got smashed - too windy for me. It was amazing to see the water sheeting white!
Back to the car park for a bite to eat and a chat with the guys. A lot of talk about "that 4 m sail in the shed that I haven't used for 10 years"....!!!
It looked like the wind had dropped off a bit so Stu & I ventured back out. The low water and weedy conditions were a bit of a struggle. Was thinking about the delta fin...(I haven't used this for a couple of years)
The wind got all funky - gusty and swinging between NW & SW. In the end I walked back to the rigging area as the wind had failed.
Great effort Stu & MT.

On the water with small gear around 3pm, about the same time all the seabreeze green arrows disappeared from the Albion Park airport graph. Well, Such is life. Great effort in the blistering conditions fellas, I was watching the trees at work getting blown all over the place, the bom site was showing 40-50+ knot gusts, the anticipation was building and the clock on the wall seemed to be slowing down. Top stuff Stu on getting past that 40 knot milestone, excellent effort. MT also. Good navigation skills are essential nowadays to plot a safe path through all those weedbergs out there.
