Futura 101/ RSS 6.7 Delta 21

What a great day. Had a blast. Every man and his dog at Budgie. Arrived at sunrise and was on the water before 8. Was very patchy for the first hour and half but then filled in nicely. Had couple of nastier than usual catapults resulting in a one smashed carbon boom and another bent ally boom. But who cares! I cracked 30kts! Still struggling with the "bear away" but learning to get my weight back a bit more. Could have used a smaller board today and sail. Some very fast guys out there today. Some very big guys rigging some very small sails as I was leaving. Great to meet Greg and some more of the Budgie boys.

crazy day today super windy at times and plenty of chop

probably the wildest conditions i have sailed in i had 41.3 with 6.3 blade and a few runs over 40 earlier in the day

when it really kicked in changed down to 5.6 blade and was ridicously overpowered with 40 knot gusts and was in survival mode had some very scary runs managed 41.8 peak and decided to call it quits just to scary lol

congrats everybody today some really big numbers and plenty of pbs greg byron and matty both smashing over 40 and mick with his pb of over 39 so close mate 40 its just around the corner

That was a long day. Arrived about 10, Byron had already done an hour +. Very strong  Westerly, jumping off rather than gybing most of the time. Not many KM but it took about 2 hours in the morning & about another hour after lunch which was spent waiting for the nuclear wind to die down. Luckily Muz arrived & he always kills the wind so it dropped a few kinots & I went again. Added 3 knots in the lighter breeze, it was just too strong for me & too rough in the morning. Heaps out + Sue taking pics.

Exocet RS2, maui TR11 6.6, new home made fin this is what i did the hr on at start of day before the wind realy picked up so potential for to do beter but super stocked we just dont get those conditions like ever so I went for it and new it was good. alot of jybing in that hr but "alot"

CA44 speed board and TR11 6.6 most of the day then when it started blowing over 35 I went down to TR8 5.5. By time I put 8kg of weight and more down haul on wind backed off I I was struging to water start. took the weight off and heaps beter but wanted more wind to push the 5.5 into top gear. tried but just couldnt get any realy high speeds.

A great day and great turn out with so many great windsurfers days like today are so rare.

Congrats to every one weather you got PBS or not.

Quick sail this morning before leaving at midday to look after my kids. Would have loved to have sailed the stronger winds in the arvo!

Great effort to everyone today! Those were challenging conditions.

Delta 20 and 18 .

Started early . went out wind died . stood around for half hour then filled in . Stayed on the 7.1 way to long . Wasted alot of energy struggling . Then even struggled on the 6.3 . was great to see so many out in testing conditions

Exocet RS4 / TR8 7.0 / Delta 19 - W 12-20 knots

JP 84 / TR5 5.5 / Delta 19 - W 15-30 knots

Top day at Budgewoi - finally windy on a Saturday that I was free!   Got there about 8:30am and the out-of-towners had taken over the carpark with only Matt there to defend the Budgie Smugglers territory.   Turned out there was plenty of wind and car parks to go around.    Went out on the RS4 and 7.0 initially but the delta was too small and scary in the gusts.  Took a punt and rigged the 5.5 and my speed board (84L x 55) and had a blast.   Only third time on the board with a delta, so still not confident enough to really go deep off the wind, but when I did it was enough to get a few PBs (just).

Great to see everyone, sorry I missed those who got there in the afternoon.   Muz, thanks for turning up after I left and being my body double :)

More windy Saturdays soon please.

Thanks Sue, it is great to see how slow I am & maybe a few mistakes I make to explain why. I was totally maxed out, you seemed to have set up in the windiest part of the bay. Makes me think my track too far back but maybe it was just too windy. Matt looked very comfortable.
