Peter (48505km): Egg Island/Lewis Bay. Nice to see Boro put down some great speed, even though it was not that windy. Last day of ABK camp, so I stayed on freestyle gear (Skate 110, Idol 5.0). With just 4 hours of sleep, though, my mission to show Andy my upwind 360 failed. I could not even plane out of my jibes... but it was fun to be out. Boro's speed lecture/Q&A after the wind dropped was great. A lot of the things he said were very similar to what Roo said in Hatteras in April, so maybe I believen them now. Got a couple of new things out of it, too - now if I only would remember them...
Boro (11368km): Egg Island Slick, Cape Cod PD 115 V2, LB 7.8, BP Weedspeed 38 Early morning session at Egg Island Slick after all day and half the night traveling. Really nice way to shake off the jet lag. Nina and Peter showed me the way to Egg Island from Kalmus Beach and we were there in a minute or two. Wind was still ok, around 20 kt gusting to high 20s but little too broad and tide was not low enough to take advantage of the sand bar. My first run was also the best one. After that wind started to slow down and it was less and less. Typical speedsurfing story lol. The place looks like it has a good potential on a low tide when sand bar pups up and if the wind is just a little more from the West. The run along the shore line is kinda short and shallow water can be an issue if not careful, I experienced this on my first run. Depth was looking good but all of a sudden I started to hear tak, tak, tak noise from hitting the shells with the fin. I tried to jibe to avoid shallow spots but ended up dismounting head first. All the gear survived, ended up with a small brush mark on the face, is all. Great day overall. Did little speed clinic with the local crew. That was super fun too. Big thanks to Peter and Nina spoiling me every step of the way
denisspb (9772km): Pyramid Lake, NV, US Pretty nice light wind session at Pyramid Lake, nothing crazy, one of those days when you feel confident going all the way across the lake (decided not to go being there all by myself). Grand Prix 135, 7.5 Koncept, 42cm Spitfire
Dani Sfeir (3813km): Tiverton, RI, US Carbon Art Sl 63 93 LT, Point-7 6.4, Vector fin Volt 36. By the time I got to Fogland the wind drop, got a chance to have a few run, i was not powerd up at all. Wind switch to NW had few run after that was all over for the day. Nice to see Boro enjoying the Cape. |
