Egg Island/Lewis Bay. Nice to see Boro put down some great speed, even though it was not that windy. Last day of ABK camp, so I stayed on freestyle gear (Skate 110, Idol 5.0). With just 4 hours of sleep, though, my mission to show Andy my upwind 360 failed. I could not even plane out of my jibes... but it was fun to be out.

Boro's speed lecture/Q&A after the wind dropped was great. A lot of the things he said were very similar to what Roo said in Hatteras in April, so maybe I believen them now. Got a couple of new things out of it, too - now if I only would remember them...

Egg Island Slick, Cape Cod

PD 115 V2, LB 7.8, BP Weedspeed 38

Early morning session at Egg Island Slick after all day and half the night traveling. Really nice way to shake off the jet lag. Nina and Peter showed me the way to Egg Island from Kalmus Beach and we were there in a minute or two. Wind was still ok, around 20 kt gusting to high 20s but little too broad and tide was not low enough to take advantage of the sand bar. My first run was also the best one. After that wind started to slow down and it was less and less. Typical speedsurfing story lol. The place looks like it has a good potential on a low tide when sand bar pups up and if the wind is just a little more from the West. The run along the shore line is kinda short and shallow water can be an issue if not careful, I experienced this on my first run. Depth was looking good but all of a sudden I started to hear tak, tak, tak noise from hitting the shells with the fin. I tried to jibe to avoid shallow spots but ended up dismounting head first. All the gear survived, ended up with a small brush mark on the face, is all.

Great day overall. Did little speed clinic with the local crew. That was super fun too. Big thanks to Peter and Nina spoiling me every step of the way Smile

Pyramid Lake, NV, US

Pretty nice light wind session at Pyramid Lake, nothing crazy, one of those days when you feel confident going all the way across the lake (decided not to go being there all by myself).

Tiverton, RI, US

Carbon Art Sl 63  93 LT, Point-7 6.4, Vector fin Volt 36.

By the time I got to Fogland the wind drop, got a chance to have a few run, i was not powerd up at all. Wind switch to NW had few run after that was all over for the day.

Nice to see Boro enjoying the Cape.

Ah I see how it is now, if I say it's not to be believed but if someone else says it then you believe it. I don't know why I even bothered now. I hope some of the other windsurfers got something out of what I said in my talk back in Hatteras! I'll just go back to my slow sailing in the Gorge, that speed stuff is obviously not for me!

Roo, don't get upset - I learned that we should use 2 GPS devices at the same time (and preferably on our head) so that we can believe the data, and I'm just applying the same principle! You as a co-developer of the GT GPSes should understand that!

You guys are too funny. Half the stuff I said today I made up, I didn't believe it myself lol

Now I don't know what to believe anymore! I'm starting to save for a trip to Namibia. It really did not help that Gonzalo said today that really fast should be uncomfortable. Maybe if I can interview 20 windsurfers in Lüderitz, I'll get enough data to come up with enough data to calculate what should be believed.

You guys shouldn't listen Boro at all, just sail and try to go faster.. He just like to talk too much, sometimes he even forget to rig up if the audience is big enough. That's why he spent all summer at Sherman Island, Namibia Blah-Blah-Blah, Luderitz Canal Blah-Blah-Blah...WinkSmile

And Peter, you're not alone, I can't remember a thing that he's told me about windsurfing..

Well said Denis! I can't remember it too. But as long as we a having fun is all that metters. I think everyone really enjoyed speed talk today.

Wonder where you got that idea of just sailing and trying to go faster? That sounds like a way to go! I'll have to use that one for my next speed clinic if its ok with you?

Thank you Dani. I am sure enjoying it. Sunday was super fun time sailing at Egg Island. Today, It was sightseeing together with Pam, Nina and Peter at Chatham, checking out sand bars, seals and finishing with some good clam chowder that I just had to have.

Looking forward to have another session at Kalmus Beach or Egg Island tomorrow afternoon....

Hope you can make it to Kalmus Beach for the event this weekend.

Oh man, I saw your hot discussion and just wanted to pour some oil in the fire, hope it wasn't too much oil..

I actually wanted to say, just sail and try to go as fast as you can (not faster), and that is not an idea, it's pretty much all I did before we met and still do. Of course having fun is still the main part of it all for me.. If you use it for the next speed clinic it will make it the shortest clinic ever...

Denis, you can add as much oil as you like Laughing. I don't mind it at all. Just wish you were here too.

Looking good here for today and tomorrow. Also Saturday and Sunday.
