Pleasant afternoon sailing with Steve & Shane, well apart from me spending a fair bit of time trying to impersonate the crabs by going sideways a lot. I'd like to blame the delta but operator error had a fair bit to do with it.

Tried to have a bit of a crack at an hour as that's what it looked like Steve was doing, dropped 3 gybes which didn't help. Then cyborg Steve took over & he was like a machine just back & forwards, very impressive. Had a bit of a break at about 125kms before going out to keep Steve company for a bit, got to 150km & thought that's enough as the wind was dying & I didn't want to do a walk of shame...

Loads of fun with Shane and Morts. tide fairly low but wind okso I thought I would go for alphas, not enough wind so thought I would do an hour.

That went well so I thought I would go for distance. Wind picked up and ocasionally was fully powered. Could have rigged the 7.0 but this was great fun.

first hour 21.897, dropped a gybe at 100 minutes  (back foot came out of strap and caught in water.) Then dropped another at 2.5 hours. in the first 4 hours only dropped 4 gbes and 2 of those were tightening up turn to make sure I was nowhere near a kiter.

top 3 hours 21.897   21.861  20.691

Towards the end the wind dropped, resulting in mostly failed gybes I would have kept going but last 1km return was non planing and dropped off a couple of times. Mis-remembered 200 as being 104, now remember it is 108. GPS showed 107.5 but GPS results shows only 195kms. That is why it is always wise to do a few more than 108 to get 200.

Shane's gybes are looking really good. Morts board speed was better than mine, i.e. he is faster. Great to be on the water with sun and wind and friends.

loaded tracks to KA72 to see how resilts compare, very similar but 197kms. Will not post that as I usually use GPS results.

EDIT: ok so filter down to 1km and now distance 197.006. The last km was groveling back when the wind had died so 1km/196 was > 1km per hr. Great session!

SSW 12-18 knots, Fanatic 112, Loft 7m, C3 Sting2 38cm. Gusty day, found it tougher going compared to Lake George!

Arrived midday, I must be late as heaps already there! On water around 1230 off around 1730hors. Lots people passing me lol wtf... Anyway hands are hardening up nicely not so sore. Doing this for a 12 hour day at LG, motivation permitting and all.

Bad luck on the 200 Steve, as consolation we did get top spot on distance for the month so far by 0.34km. That grovel back paid off! Smile

Shane top man for speed on the day Cool

Awesome Morts. Well done on the PB. I do not find fast alphas easy with a Delta.

As for going back and forwards. Once you have done a few to stop means the ones already done would be for nothing! Pity the wind dropped.

Hope 174 will do for the month captain D Embarassed. My hands are a bit sore now.

Hope to do a day trip to Liptons if the forecast shows it is worth it. Was thinking Monday but maybe TuesdayUndecided

Distance is always a lottery. If we had launched 15 or 30 minutes earlier it would have been comfortable.

And the team who are not top due to 340 metres again see the butterly flap its wings and change things. Early in the month yet, our 174 is just a target! But it shold be ok for a top 5 distance spot for January.

Thanks for coming back out, distance is a lot more pleasant with company.

the 200 was not important just a nice to see. I did hope to get a top 5 but the wind ( and my decision not to sail until later ) put paid to tha.

All in all it was great to be on the water in the sun with wind and mates.

Windxtasy distance is easier on relatively flat water.

Hardie: a few days back I dreamt that you were telling me I had to leave the MM as I am not a regular sailor. This is just trying to prevent thatCry

Fantastic results guys, the Hr and distance both really appreciated by your captain!

Steve, if you drop the min speed filter in GPSResults from 5kts to 2kts, you could get a few more valid Kms.

I think 5kts is too high a setting but it's the default, if I remember to do it, I change to 2kts.

if you fall off the plane in light wind, you can cover a fair distance under 5kts.

And top alpha for the session and a PB, well done Morts.

Fantastic day, so stoked for you, (but just a little bummed about the double century at the same time). Kudos to the Albantarticans :-)

Nice going PJ, I am glad we could back each other up. That will teach Morts to give up before me Innocent. Glad to heat LG is looking promising.

Nelson the gybes are flattered by flat water..... I took FWSP (flat water show pony) off my name a while ago but it still lingers in the background. I think you did pay a visit in the past and saw the conditions. It is tough!

Flat water = alcohol. Both make you look better than you are. Both make you think that you are better than you are. And too much of either can hurt the next day😜
