Swindy (10125km): Coodanup, WA, AU Pat SL100, FW 7.0, 21 MUF Delta Well I dont know what happened to the 47 knots displayed on my watch but these numbers look pretty legit. there was another ghost file on the 22nd when i uploaded to KA72 at safety bay and I didnt even sail that day. The watch just lives in my glove box so not sure what happend. Anyway, ignored that file and just uploaded todays session and it seems to have come out ok. Nice to catch up with the team regulars for some nice shallow smoothe sailing. My first time in such smoothe water and I can see how it can become adictive. Should probably gone with the 120 and the fangy fin as i was a bit underdone alot of the time and I still dont like deltas. Saying that it done its job well through the thick weedy bits. Looking Forward to my next fix. Mike you might still want to check the file, its set as public on KA72, Thanks
fangy (22667km): If grinners are winners, I am on the podium. I hit some serious weed at Fangyland today. I shared the buzz with Sludge, Decrepit, Ian and later on, the Doughnut King himself, Swindy.
I went with the Party Barge, Koncept 7.5 and ever faithful Fangyfin24. Obviously, being downwind of so much weed affected my ability to reason, and inexplicably, I went with Cap’n Calm’s rigging suggestion. No prizes for guessing, but for the morning session I was woefully underpowered. Sludge continued to be a serial pest and buzzed around the joint like blowfly in a Coke bottle. That would be okay if only he was slower and lacked ability. His run of poor form with the Fangyfin 24, that is, sailing with way better than me until he decided to go all 'Scissorhands' on his own sail for a change. That slowed him a little, but not nearly enough for my liking. In the meantime,Cap’n Calm disappeared up to the Creery end weed banks and kept himself blissfully occupied for 100km of weed fix with runs like a metronome.
Talking about weed. Never let it be said the Manbra Mob are not fertile. Dedicated winter urea infusions have resulted in a bumper crop. In places it’s heavier than Swindy’s doughnut bag. In fact, in today’s breeze the outer weed was so thick it slowed you down, but the acres of corrugated cardboard ripple was sooooooo good. I am sure, eventually I would get bored of it, but that ain't gonna happen soon.
Later in the arvo, the breeze filled in a knot or two and I swapped out the Fangyfin24 for the cut down version 20cm. The 20cm went through just about anything without much of a tug, but the combination of the Barge and 7.5 are just a bit too big for it to be a happy camper uphill.
I called it a day when I ran out of go-go juice, but I am stoked with Huey’s effort on my birthday. A fab day of groove in the smooth equals a Top Ten Fangy Day of grins.
Morning session on the 24.
Afternoon session on the 20cm - the lack of upwind ability is pretty obvious.

Elmo (31521km): JP HF 135L, NP RSR 5.8m, NP RS flight AL Much better session than the cyclonic conditions of yesterday, wenty out at Novara with the flying Stroppeedo. Wind strength was 13-20knots (just shy of gale force) so I straight away rigged the smallest I could (gotta fix my wave boom) it was still a bit much. The prangs were interesting today as we were sailing through the lumpy goodness, which on the foil is smooth just floating over the chop, my problems started with the board following the contours of the waves and trying to balance the board trim but you can see your immenant destrauction waiting for you. What happens is you go over the wave and the board dips down, the next wave it dips down some more and then the front of the board clips the next wave then next thing you know every things out of the water in an ungainly mess. Stroppo is surging ahead in leaps and bounds and on his first run sailed out to near the platform (I couldn't even get past the rock garden) however he discovered the folly of his actions and discovering how much fun it is foiling down wind fully lit. Good to see hinm trying to immitate my stacks from yesterday, gotta say he makes a sizeable dent in the water. Still he BLITZED the day with a 22.6 on the dial thats heading into brown trouser territory. Great bit of fun, gunna have to rig smaller for that kind of wind. Good times
Decrepit (54652km): Even more smoooooth fix, less water more wind than yesterday = more smooth = more fun. Joined Fangy and Slugger at the hook, went with the same set up as yesterday. 6.6, 53 and 21 at 50. Started off a bit slow, but built up nicely, now we have a NM worth of smooth/flat, (just). Was in a bit of a hurry to get off the water dure to a dinner engagement, so just missed out on gaining a place, Bummer. But can't complain too much, it was heaps of fun.
The worrying new development out there is the two big weedburgs 4 or 5 meters apart, tied together by leg thick rope weed. This is like going over rope tying two craypot buoys together, pretty solid tug even with the 21 @ 55deg. Swindy thought he may have cut through the rope weed, but watching behind me, it just got pushed down, and slowly floated back up.
SluGger (13777km): Coodanup, WA, AU patrik 115 rss7.8m fangy 24 Had a great sail with Mike, Ross and later Roger. Started off pretty light and graduallly filled in, which towards the end saw me over powered! BUT luckily there was an ever enlarging hole forming in the third panel of my sail , the hole got too big so called it a day. Awesome watching you guys sailing out the back,
