JJ (25827km): Majestic Point, WA
Perfect foiling breeze for my first Foilville session
Used new 90cm mast - a little easier to maintain height as expected. Think the 70cm mast will be more fun in the ocean as turns feel more direct. Hope to try smaller KS1 front wing tomorrow - thanks for the loan Dan WSP Too manic today to test it.

Boz (42999km): Melville Beach, WA, AU Gusty sail at Melville, setup didn't feel right today but still an enjoyable sail with a few Pinnas out and about as well as the usual crew. Manta61 KAR6.3 ws28
Jase (3183km): Melville Beach, WA, AU. Where did the rain come from? I was out when the first squall came through and this is where my best speeds were from, I was pretty overpowered and getting way too much lift on the 32 pointer so changed down to the 27 and the board was way more in control. The wind was pretty gusty and shifty and it was challenging but nice to get on the water and wash the working week off. Good to catch up with the crew for a chinwag at packdown.. 97 futura / 6.6 koncept / 32 nitro then 27 tribal ws.
Lunny (42007km): Melville Beach, WA, AU Bit of an unexpected session at Melville, I was going to head to SB but it looked ok closer to home. Nice to try my new Patrik Slalom. She performs just as described by Steve Stratfold. My second best alpha at Melville and my first session on this board, sweet! Quite a few out there today too Patrik SL 92, Reflex8 7.0, Tribal ws 29
Windxtasy (13938km): Melville Beach, WA, AU M91 5.4K, 30 powermax A quick blat to blow out the cobwebs accumulated during the working week. Very gusty and moderately choppy. Good to chat with JJ, Craig, Jase, and Boz. Highlight of the day - watching Jase's very relaxed laydown gybes - like ballet on water
remery (5318km): Melville Beach, WA, AU What is this August? Pretty good fun compared to working. Should've used a 6.5 and a pointer fin. Saw Boz blasting around in the Melville bullets and chop. I just can't get comfortable in one of my footstraps, maybe I have it set too wide, Ima replace it tomorrow. Also have a small hole in my well-used sail, I might see if there is such a thing as repair tape otherwise go with the ubiquitous gaffer tape repair. Pointman (25522km): Cervantes, WA, AU Fun little warm-up sesh in Cervantes. Arrived around 4 to brooding wintery conditions and a solid 25K. First hit out on my new (superceded) 2015 6.5 Turbo. Paired with my OES 115 Xwave...wanted to demo this as a high wind, rough water combo for the weekend. Pretty good set-up. Comfortable in the mental chop, but not particularly fast. The Xwave doesn't have outboard strap settings, so having the back foot centred over the fin settles things down, but you can't get out on the rails and really power up the board. Good to dial in the Turbo, as it was my go to sail throughout the weekend. |
