Fangyland with a bit of a crowd. Good times on the Vintage Missy Flow 286, FF22, Koncept 6.6. I think this might be the fastest I can get this old board to go, next decent sea breeze it will be time to crack out the old Windtech  Laughing

I wandered down about noon to find Sludge and Cap’n Calm already on the patch and with a fair chunk of km’s under the belt already. The breeze hadn’t filled in properly and I was vacillating on what to rig. Disaster then struck in the form of Millpond rolling into the carpark after a sneaky 400km trek up from Albantartica.

Now what do I rig?

And do I tell him to sod off because he needs to take one for the team and let the big kids get some numbers on the board. Then Pinna Pacey arrived. Could the day get any worse?

As it turned out, no. By the end of the day I was happy I had flogged the vintage Mistral as fast as I can get it to go. The holes in the cheese then lined up nicely, and I scored a replacement for it as Pacey seemed happy to swap a demo FF24, that he had somehow arc-welded to his Windtech Silver Bullet, for a newish Mistral Speed board and bag. Obviously Pacey has got a bargain out of the deal, but the new kit does make my trailer look like a pro and I can’t complain.

The tide was very low, but the breeze pushed a good chunk of water across and so conditions were quite good despite the tide forecast. The breeze was solid high teens for the latter half of the arvo, and I got some box seats watching the Mobbers go hard. This made up for missing the apparent highlight of the first session where Sludge nailed some freestylin’ moves on dry land. And yes there was a rig and board involved.

Two other memorable moments: I watched as Cap’n Calm did one of the best gybes I have seen. I will be astonished if he hasn’t got some top-shelf alphas today.

The other was Blind Bob Stretchy, charging out of the alpha patch in front of me when I had the pedal to the floor on a nauti run. I was just about to bear off and go below him when I thought that there was a chance he might slingshot off the weed bank smooth, so I eased off a little and went on the high side, and then had the best view of the master at work downhill. I am spitting chips I didn’t have my camera out today. It would have been a fantastic bit of footage, sitting just off his tail at 37 knots as we charged across the flat stuff for the next half kilometre.

Responsible parenting and an empty tank of Fangy GoGo juice meant I had to call it quits early, but I can’t wait to see the numbers from the team come in. Mobbers you were great out there today, hats off to you all!

Clasic bump and too scared to jump session at the bay as I was too overpowered but I had forgotten how much fun sessions like this can be. First couple of runs were a bit sketchy until i found where to put my feet in the inboard straps. After that it was all on and soon had to come in to change down. Second session on the wave board went for about 38km and only dropped 3 gybes. could have done with a 4.5 but no longer have one so didnt want to try anything too extreme but carving around on the face of some pretty large chop and even swell faces was such a pleasure. I lasted much longer than anyon else out there today though I was just cruising most of the time. Nice to know that I havent lost all my skills in open water, just a bit rusty. Im still a bit shy of sailing in the realy shallow stuff after me crashing and seeing Bob cut his head open so hope everyone is ok at the end of today.

Liptons, lotsa fun, the breeze of the season so far around 25ktsm in the gusts, I sailed really well, enjoyed it, only downer was looking at the GPS wanting a faster speed.  Oh well there's a price to pay for being 7 to 10kgs lighter. Fat bastards RuleEmbarassed, Mistral Speed 55/95 TRXI 5.9m Pepewewed 20/48, Ps Tide very shallow, speed runs very short, Strop found the best speed strip out there today but I was spent by then

Novara Beach, WA, AU

Got the call from Rog to go play with the men in the deep blue, I knew it was going to be blowing it's tit's off and not having a mental problem (so I say) I declined.

Although a short session I had a ripper play in Elmo's lumpy goodness. Nice balls in the breeze runs through the wind swell, too scared to go over the shallow except to make ground and try to corner. Last run in I got some flight and some fright so called it. Except for the last bit the board and sail felt great today, much better than my 6.6 yesterday, I'm doing something wrong with it. The mile's not great but it's got a corner in it so I'm happy with it.

There were a couple of non GPS sailors here again today, one found a big rock and ripped his fin box half out of his board, he was ok so all good.

Coodanup, TRX 7.0, Patrick 92/Kestral 22, Missile 49/Kestral 18 Made the hard choice to go with the 7m even though I had seen slowie Wass rigging a 6.3. Did alpha on the 92 before switching to the Missile for NM and some speed runs. I had been putting off going for the hour hoping the wind would switch to a more favourable direction but at 5:30 I could put it off no longer so back on the 92 for a spin through the channels.

Coodanup, WA, AU. What a corker of a sesh!!! Terrific to get a decent blow. Lots of Mobbers out there, Shane from CST and Chris from SRM, all having a blast CoolCool. I can tell its been a while, lost a bit of fitness - pretty shattered now!

Fantastic result by Johnski, absolutely smashed it! well done mate. Slugger and Fin, excellent PBs from you too, congrats Cool

Ka Koncept 6.2 + 5.4, Sonic 85L + FF20

No sign of any wind down & Albany so decided to make a short trip up for a bit of sail to provide a bit of moral support. Fangy was so happy to see me that he just couldn't hide his joy,  a steady stream of expletives is a sign of happiness, right???

Was great to see quite a few out & was good to watch them charge about like crazy people. I just plodded around & tried not to get in the way too much & learn a bit more about where to go & not to go.

Well worth the 4 hr drive Cool

Another fantastic fangys session!! I think this rates hifher than 10!

Simon and I started early in marginal conditions, even for the 65cm board, 6.6m koncept with 21cm @ 55d weedy. Did a lot of floating in the first half hour, then the wind started to kick in. By lunch I needed more downhaul, but decide to change down while eating. went back out with the 53 and 20cm@55d and the 5.8 koncept. Tried to do an hour and alphas, but a couple of stuffed gybes did a good hour in. By the end of the hour I was hanging on again so changed to the new 48 with the starbord assy 18cm weedy and downhauled the 5,8 a lot more. At the end I shoud have been on the 5.4 as I was getting tired, and the little assy fin was giving me a hard time going upwind.

Would have liked 150km but body was protesting too much.

Great MM turn out, with visits from Pacey and Slowy, not sure if slowy picked up a weed addiction, but he certainly seemed to be enjoying himself. His 14cm delta looked to be great in the weed.

Yep,.. fangy weed farm again, PEEL, WA, AU,

What started of as light wind with the KA kon 6.6 and old slalom 52 soon piked up a bit after lunch and then changed

to the 48Board and Kon 5.8 with el55/18cm weedy.  Oh, I think I got PBs too, a top day playing boats on the front lawn.

Gota go now,... foood,    later.   Cool

We tried to mow down as much weed as we could, but hay,... thers stil more.

Basil coat hanger man, catch me if you can !!!!

JP Slalom 71, NP RSRE6 6.4m, Elmo SS 37cm

What do you get when you breed a Chicken with a Pussy, Ya get an Elmo.

Wanted to go play in the lumpy goodness today, well that was the plan anyway, till the phone went off (the world doesn't want me to sail it seems), anyways I got down to Novara to see even the kiters were packed up, rigged as quick as I could and hit the water at 5pm (nice and breezy then).

In hind sight it probably wasn't the wisest thing to do is sail a board I had never used a pointer with before, still common sense is all that common when it comes to me making wise choises of late.

So's I go out, Holey Emo slaping duck poo it's breezy, be nice if the board would stay on the water for a bit, a couple of quick adjustments another run and I find that all the weight Hardz has lost and I had found still isn't enough to keep the board down, so after two inglorious runs, I decided to cluck it in.

As

He who fights and runs away, lives to run another day.

Far Kimy, I'm fat unfit and uncoordinated with this sailing malarkey
