Fun sail with Shane doing a bit more exploring. Think if all the holes in the cheese align then there is potential for decent sppeds. Tide was a bit lower & the wind was up & down as well as being quite shifty.Best speed was on my last run in, had a nice gust & was still accelerating but fell out of it & nearly did the bum slap as the rig fell towards me.
As a word of caution, we did notice quite a few bits of old trees near the channel markers & upwind from where we sailed today. Some if not all would disapeear on a higher tide.

Elmo (31521km): JP Slalom 71, NP RSR E6 7.0m, Pepe Weed 27cm The foirecast was a bit like an election promise today. Looked windy expected to have a couple of runs and then change over to the speed board, reality had different ideas as the wind realy wasn't all that strong. Given that it was still a lot of fun spent mainly on Point Grey, twas quite bizzar the upwind ability in both tacks. Turned the air blue when some tossers in a tinny tried to run us down in the chanel, F'kers kept the hammer down trying to get in front of me on an intercept course, till I screwed the board into the wind and left them in no doubt about my opinion of their driving technique. The Kiters down at Liptons as people will know are a great freindly bunch of people (seriously) so much so that one was happy to take out his vibrator and use it on Hardz the result of which had him moaning and groaning. There's a joke in there somewhere I'm sure. Good turnout for those not doing the Cervantes weekend Good winds to all those doing it. Great fun with Great people, what more can you ask for?
fangy (22667km): Fangyland with a decent sea breeze at last! Superb arvo. My brother decided to break a 15 year hiatus from windsurfing and showing an annoying amount of talent, he smashed it straight off the bat. He also made a solid contribution to the Best Dent in the Estuary, but alas was beaten by Pacey who put in a couple of PB performances. I missed the collision with the stingray and harness ejection effort, but I was following him downhill when he decided to have a crack at a moon shot. A truly spectacular dent followed. Such was the splash, I almost got a little concerned if I was going to collide with a detached Pacey limb. Happily, before Pacey could do himself some real damage, Remery turned up and killed off the stronger gusts. Great fun just blasting over the small stuff and pushing the upper limits of the FF24. The end result was the old Missy shed a little more of its plastic skin but still a fab board to have a play and enjoy the day. Defo the Top Ten Fangyest Day of this year. Hardie (35820km): Liptons bit of fun should've been out on my larger board the RRD, chose the Mistral Speed 95 and was never quite enough wind for that and a lot more physical effort to keep it going. TR16 6.3 Pepeweed 22/48
Decrepit (54652km): WooooHooooooooooooooo!! That was fantatstic. This morning I didn't think I'd be able to enjoy the stronger winds, my back was feeling very fragile, but took a voltaron before lunch and by 2pm was ready to go. Wind wasn't quite to forecast, and very off and on. But I had to try the new 5.2 speed, so stuck that on the 53 with 20cm@55d weedy. to give me a bit more float in the lulls. Bigger board and smaller sail was much kinder on my back, also stayed at liptons instead of taking the risk of getting becalmed in the boating channel. But Liptons was nice, the run in tended to run out of wind and water, but the run out to the NE was a better longer run. I'm very pleased with the 5.2 and the frankeinstein mast I made for it. I was a bit worried, two broken bits joined together wouldn't be ideal. But it sets very well and feels light powerful and slippery. Can't wait to try it in stronger winds.
