Fun day on the slalom gear and thats a PB for me on the 110

Great fun blasting about. I did the whole drive home with the GPS on for the first time but was able to figure out how to cut my tracks on GPSResults.

Sunday morning Yunbas session with my brother, aka He Who has No Self-Preservation Genes nor Any Idea Where the Fukc he is’. He really is the Scud Missile of our family. Dangerous, Fast, and could go off at anytime off and in any direction.

We were on the plot by eight and not surprisingly there were not a lot of other people keen to get wet. There was a hint of winter, a moderate cold front pushing in a WSW.

There was a couple of patches of decent water, and just a hint of weedy stuff up at the southern end. We both had the big boards so that we could get home if the wind dropped out, but happily it was pretty consistent for frontal stuff. In the end we both could have used smaller boards, but it was good fun just charging around and having a crack in the small chop when the gusts came through.

I got a GPS on the Scud who managed to rack up some great numbers on my old BIC, including very nearly a 20knot u-turn. The Barge still holds the speed stakes but by less than a knot. The Scud is coming….

Top Ten Fangy last few days of sibling supremacy.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU super fun day with 5.0 od and 90lf2 with the 29cm weedy also had a super fun test of my new bug fins. The session was an early start but all worth it with a alpha pb and nice speed with chop and not far off my pb.

Liptons with a small "exercise" crew, no pinnas for a change, just MM, 1 CST and a couple of independants.

Wind all over the place, so went with the new 55 and and the speed 5.2. Turned out to be a fin selection test. Started off with the 24cm@43, that gave me my best speed, after a long lull, on the start of a nice gust. But as the chop increased this fin started to spin out as soon as I loaded it up. Noticed a small chiphalf way down the leading edge, so came in and tried the 20cm@40/60, this was just too small, although it works fine on the 48 with the 5.2, it didn't work on the 55. There was plenty of water high tide with storm surge,so after lunch tried the 26@45. This felt way better, but didn't feel as fast. Think I need to make a 25@ 40/60 or even a 26 with less area

Peel Inlet, WA, AU

Nice sunny day out, catching the gusts and trying to find a line in the small chop on the high tide.

Good to see a few smiling faces from a safe social distance.

Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU. FF89/SCR6.3/TWS29.  Choppy, gusty conditions, I was feeling pretty rusty, couldnt gybe to save myself  Embarassed.  A good roll up with Dave, Steve and Marcus out from OMK, Goodzee from the Wannabees and Rat rolling up while I was packing up. Had a bit of fun doing bearaways behind the rocky groyne, was tricky to time the gusts right
