Thought I would get up early at 5.45 only to see Jonski on the naughty run already. Great session in some solid gusts and top company getting huge numbers. Was stuck arround the high 39's to finally get a 40 on the last run. Turns out the Falcon 56 was quicker than the JP50. Interesting. Vapor 5.6 CLDelta 16. Great to share the day with a great crew.

Wind was gusting up to 30 knots. Fair bit windier than the last time I was here. Was hoping to get a NM PB but the wind direction wasnt exactly ideal. Been a while since I had a real speed sailing session so felt like a beginner at times.
Nice to chat with Morts and the other teams. Maybe a short session tomorrow...

Unbelievably good session with a bunch of enthusiastic speed freaks down at the Lilacs speed spot. Gusting E to ENE at 25 to 35+ kts, it was a hoot testing out the new Cruise Missile in these conditions. Was a bit overcooked at times with a full race sail (Loft 6.3) but couldn't be bothered changing down. The missile was loving the conditions down there and while some guys on small gunnier speed boards were finding the nautical mile run "very challenging", the missile felt steady and controlled all the way, even in the buffetting gusts that were coming through. The windtech 20cm Stealth fin also helped steady the board and keep it on the water.
Being a novice speed sailor, I could feel the potential of the missile to very easily hit the 40kt mark. Loving the board and feeling like I have it nicely dialled in now. Whoohoo! Lot's of smiles down there today and also some serious tail walking. Great bunch of guys turned out and good times had by all. A very memorable session and well worth the drive down. Pretty low key night last night with a good pizza from local shop and a beer/chat with the guys. Good to see Terry from One Eyed Cantabrians down there for the first time. I reckon he'll be back. Pinna's I saw were Kenny, Lunny, Woody, Flatchat, Pacey, Antman so great turnout. Anita will be pleased!!

hit the water at 7:30 am to find multiple people out already. Initially went out with a 6.2 but was severely overcooked on the first couple of runs so came in and changed down to a 5.5.
wind direction was a bit tight for the naughty run, but some great patches of flat water. Had a GPS disaster, lost my motion logger from the top of my helmet, probably got banged by the mast in a gust while waiting to start a run. My advice to anyone who wears their logger on their helmet is to run an extra bead of superglue or epoxy around the seam between the body of the logger and its base. Fortunately had a GT31 as backup.

Gusty and blusterly easterly with a little too much north to rip the naugthy. Still good fun to play in the smooth. Left at lunch after a thunderstorm wrecked the speed fuelled party only to see the breeze swing more easterly! Glad those who went out again got the rewards with some smokin numbers.

Nice dash to Albany with a whole bunch of speed freaks.
Started early with Jonski on a 5.0 but changed to a 5.5 which had more squirt for speed.
Unreal how cool it was down there compared to Perth
Always a great blast down there
