Another enjoyable day at the races, I mean at LG. Not sure to sail as 25 to 35kn SE, but persuaded as was rigged up anyway. First time around the Spit end, and islands.

Lake George, SA.

Good speed day today with the wind hitting 30 knots in the odd gusts, although it was patchy and inconsistent. Got better later around 6pm as is often the case here, especially whe there is blue skys like today.

Went out on the speed gear and 5.2m but initially I was not sure if I had the right choice. I tried a few speed runs bit was stuggling to better 38's. I noticed there seemed to be stronger gusts from Cockies down past the islands so I tried a couple of runs next to the big island. On the tsecond or third I hit the Lucky Gust jackpot with the 42.2 x 2 seconds. Laughing

Now that I knew where to sail I did a bunch more there, but had to go back after the next one to fix my Logit Phone which somehow got the GPS turned off and I couldn't get it going on the water. I have become addicted to the Logit speed talk and didnt want to continue without fixing it. Embarassed

I quick run back to Cockies, fixed it, and away again. Mat and Tone joined me at that spot and I pumped out a dozen more runs. None cought the 'Lucky Gust' again but I saw quite a few 40+ peaks. I think maybe that 'run' is just a little short for good 10 sec speeds.

Martins Prototype 16cm 50 degree weedie fin worked exceptionally well again. It is incredibly tenatious in that board. It just does not let go! Even upwind over big chop! I wondered if it was fast, but today put that to rest. When the wind was there it took off. And it great having such a shallow fin for confidence in unknown depth's.

Lots of frothing sailors out today from all over Vic and SA. Cool

Another day in or under Weed down, with the sky clearing early to help make the Weed Wonderland mutate towards its optimum elixir combo for later in the weedy season.  Jetty cafe again to replenish n regroup, chug coffee n brekky burgers.

Matt and I did a 3rd Ramp Robe wavesail yesterday with all the other non speedy Vicco Supa Spreaders having a ball in the nice conditions with 5ft faces to slay, went to 3/4 mast though on this day i was told, so missed out whilst mowing the weeds today.

After stoked wavesail we headed to Robe pub for a meal n cold one before heading back to Bch'port.  1Km out of town a loud drumming sound starts beating from the rear of my van, and I did not even have the stezza cranked with Van Halens Hot for Teacher cued up to send it back to the lake with the funky smell.  Nor had I hit some munted roadkill and got it hooked around a wheel or the tail shaft after checking the under carriage.

Further investigations, and a short tow down a dirt road in nuetral to try work out what was causing this bump, bump, bump in the night as the sun disapeared I was thinking it might be the T-Shaft carrier bearing.   It was a nasty enough sound to get one twerking but not the type you felt like having an ongoing  hard n fast drive with.

Limped the silver bullet into Robe escorted by Matts Tardis to find some carpark kerb to tickle its belly and check the tail shaft more closely.   Carrier bearing fine but further along the shaft the 6bolt coupling had one of its 3 paired nut/washer plate combo's with allen key bolts come undone.  Thus nut washerplate centrifuged out and was drumming on the side of fuel tank, Such a great German engineered safety feature.  A tighten n test drive of deez nutz and re-tension had us on my way back to Beechus-portius with a sigh of relief.

Anyhow's on this day with the sky clearing and the wind building there was a certain air about it that had the team let us out to the lake for the first wave and smash out some k's.  Was hoping to give the 7.7 race for a blat first but was stronger than expected and wen for the 6.6Kcpt 112L and the AtomicWeedWeapon22 to start a top to bottom biological blat of the lake.

Was looking good for an hour up the top till I looked at my watch and running times in my head and relaxed a bit too much and got lifted and landed on my back.  came to a complete stop and recovered as quickly as possible to save the hour pretty much equallying previous PB.

Had 6.6 fully bagged n pulling hard on the 112L, ran a NM on it across the golden guts and then onto the island spit region to squeeze some speeds out before returning to the Cocky Carpark to catch a breath with the other Gallah's.

Swapped 6.6 after a tune up to the Sp47 and AtomicWeedWeapon20 and headed back out upwind to give the Cockys Control Tower a flyby test pass before peeling off down to the Spit.   Belted out a few foamy bank runs but seemed hard to hold good power after hitting the smooth stuff.  Hooked a good entry gust on one of them I think and got a 44pk on the screen.

Got lured by team mates to far out the other side behind Cockys and got stuck starting again after hitting weedberg mid gybe.  Got bogged n had to let my tires down n move base to the front of the track to escape the sweaty wet weed stink.  Rejoined Mat and headed back up towards runway1 at Cockys to buzz the tower a couple of times before calling it a day.

Good to catch up with a few others including ChrisD'who got out early and smashed some K's in more ways than one doing a day trip.

Only Coopers19 contamination prevalent currently in BP, though the beach dunny at Robe Wed'night looked like someone was suffering from Corrona19 and had a massive Barney Hurl on the floot on entry, they did not even get as far to drive the porcelain bus, mega effort chunks n coverage was impressive...

Air mob decontamination assault in Robe required, the LG Weed God says don't panic I'm Organic and can defeat any Corrona virus.
