Nice foil at Pinnaroo in a moderate westerly.

L150 + 76 Wing + 6.5 Turbo.

Set up was a bit marginal at times, but mostly flying.

Some chunky wind swell to play in, and it was nice to be back on the freeride kit, last freeride foil was back in May. Cool

Pleasant sail with the Busso Boys, Stretch Anita and Flex, was worth the drive down for a relative consistant sail.

Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU. Was fiddling with more prototypes of the DIY GPS and planning on making a buggy for tomorrows mission when Boz and Anita said they were heading to Australind.  Keen to check the place out so headed down to have Stretch pace me on the drive into town with Boz in the background...lots of others out.  Wind must be good!    Found their launch spot and the wind promptly died.  One sailor (sorry don't know name) came in to swap out for a centerboard machine so rigged 7.8 in the hope it was enough. Anita turned up just as I was heading out.  First hour was just enough but the next hour was better powered.     Sun was out and very pleasant first run here.   Will be a good place for distance if starting early.  120 Tabou rocket, 7.8 severne, 33TWS

What are the chances that a drive home from Margaret River would coincide with almost balmy winter sailing conditions at Australind?

Very low, but I hit the jackpot today, with mostly sunny, not too cold conditions, and fairly consistent wind with not too many holes, and a good posse of friends to sail with.

An excellent way to top off a great weekend.

Thanks for the intel on where to meet, Stretch.

Positives - I was pleased to be able to keep going for an hour (despite being very unfit), to not drop any gybes, and my best alpha was on my bad side, going from starboard to port. Progress!

Downside - fell in off a tack 5 minutes before I had planned to finish, and got thouroughly wet, whereas I had been dry from the knees up until then.

Waricle..new avatar!..looks like something from Magic roundabout??   Yes, I get the potential here...I struggle with the long drive but for a big session will be good.
