Day trip down to Lilalcs with Hardz to avoid the heat.
In hindsight the 7.0 may have been a touch large-ish
I blame Hardie as he looked like he wasn't overly powered up on his 6.3 but realistically it was most likely my inner Tim the Toolman. I knew I might have had a bit of an issue after my first naughty when I saw that Woodymark was on a 5.8m.
Still I had fun, I was only extpecting an hour of sailing as that wa all my arm has been able to handle but it was such fun playing around, did two naughty runs first was a 34.03 both lacking a bit because the low tide didn't allow for a hot run into the Naughty so a low speed start from the sand bar was the go.
Testing out my new DYI GPS's (Huge thankks to Jan and Jim for all their patiuence and help), in technical muppet speak terms, these things are F'KEN Awesome, I kid you not, I had them set up between my harness lines on either side of the boom.
A liitle thing Jan has incorporated in the readout is current run, it has a moving bar graph for the naughtical mile so you know if you have completed your run or not (very handy at Albany on a lower tide when you have to decide how close to the shore you want to go.
Having peak alpha's come up after each run is also handy for the "U"benders as you can see whether you've improved or not which was very depressing for me as I had a lot of fat arsed gybes yesterday.
Fastest run was to one heading back to the car.
Great fun day out with a lot of like minded souls, not so nice driving back into 40ºC heat only to get a message from my beloved to find out we had lost power for the second night at 6pm (not returning to after midnight for a second night).
Voltaren emugel worked wonders for the drive home and before bed, so the arm is better than normal of late.
Hope the crew who stayed down there have fun today.
Huge congrats Mr Sting on almost a full house of PB's, remember yesterdays PB is todays target to beat
