Great day on the lake. Quie nice strongish winds with breif gusts around 30Kts. Still quite difficult to line the flat patches up with the gusts but good fun and a Lucked a couple of good gusts.
Great to sail with Tricky and Chris, along with Jamie, Andy and Peter. Looks like all were enjoying the conditions.
I stayed down the Spit end of the lake today, and even had a go behind the spit. The angle was great and the water was very flat, but the wind just seemd a bit softer and hard to get the last couple of knots.
I had Katos words ringing in my ears. " Don't forget to do a 1hr!" Geeze, this was the last thing on my wish list in these conditions, but in the end I bit the bullet and tried and Hr on the M7 with the 5.2m sail flattened right out. It didnt go great as in the first 15 minutes I had 3 or 4 crashed Gybes, but I finally sorted that. Might have been quite reasonable without all the crashes but stll pretty happy with it. Anyhow, plently of time for that later in a bit less wind.
Camping at the spit tonight with Tricky and might even sail tomorrow. Will see how I pull up after today.
