Melville Beach, WA, AU

Started at Coods in the morning, mistime no wind, back home to do some work and decided at least to get the new AV board wet at Melville. Short and sweet session only rigged the 5.7 KAR and straight away the sail didn't feel right. Using a new mast defo wrong bend curve for the sail. The 5.7 is my go to and on the KA mast not an issue, the new CST mast way out of spec. Picked slowies brains and seems there is an explanation re the bend curve which explains why the sail felt like a piece of rag. Apart from that the AV 60 88L is sweet, very diffferant feel compared to the Manta's will take a few runs to get used to it and dial it in but so far sweet.

Safety Bay, WA, AU

Checked out the Chook pond after Boz.Still no wind and to impatiant to wait,so headed back to safety bay,by which time the wind had arrived. The pond only had 2 kites and a wing ding out and was to good to not go out after calling a end to sailing there again after yesterdays cut offs :/ Turned out to be a great session with good sections on the beaver run.Plenty of power on the 6.3SCR,87 iSonic,25 ws.

Coodanup, WA, AU.    Was up early on expectation of a chook pond morning and at 5am wind was looking promising but at 6am when I planned to head off had dropped off dramatically so decided to wait. Was up early as was madly printing a new mount for Jan's DIY GPS so I could film the display at all times.  Figured best pos was rear with camera facing backwards.   Good thing I did wait it seems...went and did other stuff then noticed around 12 it had picked up.  Was commited to the other stuff but managed to get down around 2pm, wind was best its been for the last 2 months.   Saw Gloria's post she was here and saw her sail way to the east close to shore, near that rig up point but never saw it again so assume she had given up.

Of course after I rigged the wind dropped off a bit so was glad rigged 7.0. Shouldn't had bothered with the 3D print and managed to kick it off before even stepping on the board...you can see in the photo where it shoudl have been. The atrraction of the pond was too great so headed in. Was ok powered for a few laps but nothing special but glorious flat in perfect sunshine and some small patches of glass, then a dark cloud came in and briefly the wind was good to over powered.  Started wishing I'd rigged my new 6.3 that I've had for 3 months and never used.... Also started thinking I shouldn't be sailing alone in these conditions as were turniong epic...then, right in the middle of the pond, just a few seconds after the best of the wind, the wind dropped dead and had a very slow 2knot chug back to van.  Of course I'd rigged up near the toilets so was a very long chug but I did manage to chug out through the outlet which is always a bonus, albiet a hard workout/balance fully downwind act.   Once fully rigged down, the moment my wetsuit was off the wind came right back in again...typical.   Of course, because its friday the 13th, after writing this dribble, one second before posting my computer decieded to hang...so this is second pass attempt so probably rushed with lots of spelling errors.    iSonic 97, 7.0 KAR, FF22
