An interesting session at Coodanup with Gloria and the guys.

The men decided to try the chook pond, Gloria and I decided to stay in the bay, which proved to be the right decision as the wind cut out once the guys got into the chook pond. There wasn't much wind where we wer eeither but it was pleasant putting around and practicing light wind tacks and gybes. Light wind work is very tiring on the balance muscles and I was starting to fatigue when the wind picked up a little and the guys saw this as their best chance to get back. I kept sailing until they had come in and then decided to quit also. No sooner had I come in that the wind turned WSW and put on the best squall since I had headed out, so I quickly turned around and headed out again. No great speeds, but some fun runs down the swell lines, and one fun run almost to the windmill before the wind dropped and I decided I had better turn around and get back while there was some wind left. Luckily the wind stayed WSW and I made it back in one run.

Not a top 10 Fangy Day, but my best session since Easter.

No sign of the Mandurah Mob. They must all be hibernating.

Interesting day..... First time at Coodanup and first time in the chook pond.

Wind was ordinary. Great to see Boz get gust of the day as he hasnt had much success the last few days.

Great sailing with lots of Pinnas out on the water.

Looking forward to sailing the Pond when  its on as i can see  it will be fun fast.

Coodanup, WA, AU.  Plenty of Pinnas out today..the lads chose the Chook pond and the ladies opted to stay outside.   Arrived to no wind but the lads all rigged and ready.   The ladies arrived shortly after me.  Wind soon picked up and eemed strong with Boz and Antman wizzing around on their 6.3's. Starting riggin my new 6.3...alas, after a minute there was no wind.   So rigged bigger but not too big.  Still no wind so decided to start rigging the big gear as well and plan was to sail on that till wind came in then switch.   Got the board ready but wind came in and it was on.  Antman, Richo and I entered the pond at the same time, there was some brief wind...enough to get nearly up to the far side, enough to see my new GPS mount work to film in action (Had made a Aluminium version as the 3D print had died yesterday).  Then it (the wind) stopped as soon as Boz entered the pond.   Sat up the far end forever waiting for the slightest gust.  Antman and Richo must have had a chat fest to end all chat fests, plenty of wildlife to watch for me but Boz gave up and left.    Did a couple of back and forwards to stay warm.

Meanwhile the ladies sails were jealously moving whilst the lads were not....    Once Boz had left there was enough wind to get going, Antman and Richo bailed immediately.  I squeezed one more run with a beautiful rainbow 1/2 double rainbow and managed to sail out through the small inlet.   Got back to car park and decided to rig the big gear to as there was enough wind.  Almost got rigged and wind came in again and got another cruise sail in.   Just as Cinderella time came, saw Windxtasy doing a naughty so decided to try to back her up.  Was expecting wind to die and leave me stranded with a long slog back but luckily the wind stayed until back to car park. Wasn't as epic day as expected but was fun day out.   iSonic 97, KAR 7.0, FF22.    Photo of Richo's first trip to pond, new DIY GPS mount (need to sort the leash out), chugging the outlet, nice rainbow on last run

I forgot to mention, I thought I saw a turtle today bob'n its head up enroute to pond so took a closer look.  Only saw it briefly...turns out was a tyre...this will ruin your day to be sure...

Scott, you must have had better wind on the river, or more consistent at least, because if you look at our hours, it would have taken a very long time to do nearly 70 km. In my case, about 5 hours, and I was sailing for a full hour , just very slowly most of the time

Anita, there was just enough wind to cruise around waiting for the gusts. Perfect weather for building back a little fitness.
