I'll compare with DIY gps tomorrow.

Stretch (31360km):
728 days ago Peel Inlet, WA, AU. Highlight of today was using the DIY unit tirelessly constructed by Mike and Alby. What a fantastic unit, so easy to ready and informative whilst on the water. The alpha proximity guide is really handy too. Exceeded expectations. Wind didn't quite boot, but still a great sail with Slugger and Joe

First time out with the boom mount Gps. They are fantastic! Huge thanks to Mike and Alby for a fantastic job. These are almost certainly the most advanced GPS dedicated windsurf units that have ever existed. Tnanks again guys.

Novara for some lumpy goodness, would've preffered Liptons but the f'ken tourists were everywhere.
Went out with the 6.4m as it looked quite breezy, unfortunately it wasn't would have been more comfy with the 7.0.
Got some nice runs, but a few underpowered bits as well.
Session was cut short just as the wind kicked after hearing a strange noise found the main panel of my sail had a nice tear across it. Poor old thing will be mainly repair tape when it hits the water next.
Good to catch up with Mike the (x)Postie and Paul who was in luxurious cruise mode on his wingy wangy riding the little wind waves.
Data from DIY units averaged between two units.

726 days ago Too many people out to mention, (apart from the fact I've no idea who some of them are).
Rigged the 5.7 speed. and both the 55 with 20cm deltoid and 48 with 19 deltoid. Wind was a bit too up and down for the smaller board, it's hard work for me in the lulls, although it would have been better in the gusts.
Just enjoyed sussing out the boom units, I found the alpha separation display a tad too small, may have been better if I'd cleaned my glasses.
But the large numbers are very easy to read on the run, nice getting realtime speed feedback. It helps with figuring out which is the fatser water. But just a bit too up and down with short gusts to really make definite conclusions.
This wasn't posted with the excelent OAO file of Julien's It's from the UBX file of my DIY3 logger.
