Clue Thirst (145km): Pinnaroo Point, WA, AU Nice quick session today. Not many wundsurfers, as most at Cervantes. Was getting quite choppy towards the end. Dyno 105, Gator 5.5.
Flex (17456km): Coodanup, WA, AU. Short stop on the way back from Albany to stretch the body with all the usual suspects out plus Peter and Nina...nice to meet you guys. Very nice condiditons on beautiful sunny day but had to cut short to head back, do shopping and the tribal thing. On rig down there was a stink boat throwing and enormous wake but all the sailors were thrashing it on speed. Wanted to get the drone up and do a side by side comparison but no time today. iSonic86, KAR6.3, FF18V4

Windxtasy (13886km): Coodanup. Manta 54 Speed, 18 tribal delta then 22 FF 5.7K A lovely warm sunny day with lots of good company. Struggled to get speed early as the board kept slipping sideways. After a lot of adjustment I eventually came in for a bigger fin, which made everything much more comfortable, but I had missed the best of the wind and tide by then. Peak speed was about half way down the 2nd naughty. First one only managed 25.715 kn average. Second was much faster right from the start - must have caught a good gust - excited to see a 32 on the screen on the way down. Had to round up at the end as I ran out of water but still was catapulted in the shallows. The bigger fin was much more limited in where it could go. I thought I could improve on my 2 sec speed by going more downwind in the next naughty, but by the time I got back to the top of the run the wind had dropped, and I could ony manage a 30 kn peak. Not a bad first entry for 2023, but always hoping for more.

Snickers (13435km): Melville Beach, WA, AU Wind down sail after yesterday. Felt a lot like hard work when I first hit the water so chilled at Wally world until the wind did the switch and fade earlier than I was expecting it to. Exceptionally gusty after the swing to the south. mistral91, NP race Evo16.2, tws25

kai (4967km): Cervantes, WA, AU Fantastic day of racing yesterday. Forgot to turn the gps on for one of the races but there were 4 total. Was in the top 5 almost every race and was feeling perfect on my 5.8 SCR, and 96 Ltr 3XS. Tough racing against the PWA boys but was right on their tail . |
