694 days ago Fangyland with possibly everybody who could manage the arvo off. Went out on the 130litre Windtech Cruise, and was too lazy to come in and change to something sensible. Top Ten Fangy thrill ride trying to keep everything on the deck, as the wind gusts would just get under the nose and we would have lift off.
Very happy with my FF21Speed with a slightly increased leading edge radius. Never spun out unless I intentionally pushed it over the edge, and reattached immediately after every lift off. It gave me great confidence to keep doing silly things on the Windtech. The single cam Avalon 6.3 deserves a solid mention too. Apart from being seriously overpowered it was stable as a rock and just pulled more than I could hold down.
Epic fun arvo and there will be masses of big numbers from the crowd. Post more later - gotta eat now!

694 days ago 1 categories Point Grey, Hit bottom at 41kts, somehow saved it and didnt crash, sailed in deeper watrr after that which was much more choppy and was never the same after that, so I sailed to Liptons Bay soon after, but couldnt get my act together there 39kts was best I could do over there there while others were getting 43's. Was really enjoying my first run at Point Grey, felt fast and familiar, then I hit bottom and had an almighty tug on the fin felt I was on the verge of a catapalt in less than 6 inches of water and somehow I didnt stack it, Mum must have been looking over me? Thankyou!!

Dug out the kids rig tonight as it was a wee bit breezy in places, finally got to try out the Pepe Delta which was very nice and polite to sail with.
A few nice bullets out there but generally found them when sailing back.
Still nice to have a blast.
Last run back to base got myself launched in the channel, been a few years since thats happened.

694 days ago FanjieLan with some wind that seemed to be changing about on the occasion or maybe it was the sail and fin playing silly games.?
the fin was catching weed, so some work needs to be done to stop that happening, I think. But it was fun out there with
everyone flying about.

694 days ago What a day! Started out on the 6.8 Loft sail switch and had to happily move to a 5.6 combat. I was a bit surprised to hit 33 knts on the wave sail.

694 days ago Defo top 10 fangy day!!!!
Good wind sunshine flat water, great company, but the 40kt NM didn't appear, Lilacs still has the crown.
I rigged the PB gear, 48board 5.2 speed sail and 18@55 starboard assy.
I had thought the 18 might not have got me upwind very well, so was contemplating the 19, but therewas enough wind to power up the 18 and getting upwind wasn't a problem.
I was only getting the odd 36 until I followed Daffy from the top end of Creery point, to do a NM, that's when the top speeds appeared.
Like this.
