636 days ago Lake George, SA. NNE wind picked up a bit more than predicted, so I was a bit overpowered with the 7.0 most of the time, slowing down in the biggest gusts (which always seemed to be in the "chop", not the glassy bits). But had too much fun to rig down, especially since going back to Packing Point seemed like to much work. Very hot in the 2 mm short sleeve wetsuit so had to stop several times to get wet, and welcomed a few crashes for the same reason, but all that meant I did not back up Nina's hour as well as would have been possible with a smaller sail and boardshorts. Still quite happy with my second-fastest top speed ever, and a few more top 2 and top 3 entries. Unless we decide to stay a few days longer than planned, this was our last session here, and what a nice one it was.

Nina (9918km):
636 days ago Lake George, SA. Rigged the 5.5 M2 2 cm lower today, which helped a lot, as did getting to use the better boom. Trim was not perfect, since the clew often dragged in the water, but at least I was not getting lifted in the gusts (and there were some pretty big ones). Decided to take the "big" (48 cm) board after seeing Peter going out on the 7.0, and seeming happy with the sail. Goal of the day was to improve the hour, and that was going quite well, judging by the ever-increasing numbers the ESP logger showed, until I ran aground in shallow water, and had to walk back quite a bit before I could start again. Average speed in the half hour before that was more than a knot higher, so there is still room for improvement. But quite happy to improve my PB by more than a knot, and to get a few more top 3 entries.
