Coodanup, WA, AU Alas no pb 😕, it felt good to get out there with all the crew...so many! My achievement was holding onto a 5.5 sail so I must be getting stronger 💪🏼 Fabulous conditions, wind and water were perfect... I've just got to sail better! Severne turbo 5.5, CA 66, Fangy fin. 😎

Coodanup, WA, AU. Just a quick sesh after coming back from school being forced to ride to Coodanup. Came in just as the crew was leaving. Had a quick chat for changing into my wetsuit turns out I bet everyone with my 3 kts two second peak on my bike. Really fun day out. Played around with the mast base until it was perfect. Great to see so many people out. If my write-up isn’t to scratch it is because I am using text to speech on my phone because I can’t be bothered typing to upload. 🍄

Melville Beach, WA, AU

Great gusty session at Melville with Slowie, Jay, Rick, Scottish Pete and some regulars. Tried the speed board at Melville then switched to the slalom 91 as the tide came in and headed to Wally world. First Run at each spot were my best two speeds of the day. 3/5 of the 2 secs were at Wally world. Both locations were spot on when I first got there, would have loved to have been at both Melville and Point Walter an hour earlier. Snagged a 34.5 through the chop half way between Ardross and Dalkieth, you know you're alive when the back of the board is out of the water and the nose is driving accross the chop.

Reflex 6.2, Mistral speed 47 with tws 25 then mistral slalom 91 with tws 29.

1st Runs on FMX 98lt 18cm Delta spinning out alot 35.84 2 sec.

2nd attempt on FMX 74lt Delta 16cm 35.8 2 sec spinning out less but not suiting the chop. Nose waving around at times a little dangerous with 8.6m.

Lucky 3rd go on the Tribal 118lt Delta 24cm. Wind had dropped unfortunately but it was so more comfortable and faster 36.11 2 sec.

Coodanup, WA, AU

Moderate wind cruise at Coods.

Got on the water 5ish and the breeze was on the wane, so the combo...WT57 + 7.0 + 18 Delta...was a bit underdone.

So I just went for a cruise.  Started to grind out an hour, but dropped a gybe 45 minutes in and took a while to get started in the shallow water.

So after that I tried for some alphas.

Nice sesh, just not that exciting. Smile

Coodanup with a moderate crowd.  Much more comfortable than last Monday and a slightly better speed but with less wind.

My best speed since January.

M47, 5.8 Koncept, 22 FF 18 kn

Not really powered up enough on the downwind runs.

Three top fives and a pb, imagine what you could have accomplished if you hadn’t ridden against the wind on a pushie all the way from school to Coods😎

Nice work Shroom, technically you weren't "forced"  though to ride your pushie as you could have stayed home and played video games or done your homework..but good choice and rewarded for the effort..well done.  Nice going as well Snickers...gonna have to try this Wally's world...seems more logical to launch down there though..or is there some reason not to other than longer drive?

Congrats Reuben! Well earned PB and some top 5's. Great to see you're progressing after sailing in to tricky winter conditions.

Well done Gloria on a top 5.

Anita it's great to see you've still got some great speed despite not sailing as much recently.

Jim, It's good to know where the shallow areas are as we've all learnt the hard way that submerged rocks can be hidden in some unlikely places. If you're using a FF then launching there makes sense. Wind can be fickle at Point Walter and it is more sensitive to the direction of the sw to ssw. You can rig and launch there but I'm happy to sail there, can always return to Melville if it's not on just ready learn to bear away before the wind shadows, be ready to unhook the harnes and don't leave it too late to head back to Melville. Personnally I find it much easier to go fast at Wally world than Melville, assuming you snag a gust.
