Gloria (1069km): Coodanup, WA, AU What a way to spend Australia Day! All the usual suspects out there today, with a few faces I haven't seen before. I had an absolute ball, a little choppy for me, but I gave it my best. CA 66, 6.0 Severne Turbo, Fangy fin. Bring on tomorrow.

fingers (1197km): coodanup today good breaze around 15-20 knots with a few stronger gusts lots of windsurfers out enjoying the day , what a great bunch we sail with it makes the day evenm better i was very pleased with my speed today as i am usually sitting around 25-26 knots in that chop tribal 88 with a 26cm fin 5.8 mt severne motto
Topcat (1954km): ![]() South Yunderup, WA. Had a great session here with Flex leading the way which convinced Anita and I to drive the extra distance from Coodanup. Nice little spot with reasonably flat water and highish tide made it navigable, meaning I could change to a Weedspeed which was at least a knot faster than running a Delta in my hands. Had the spot to ourselves once Flex left for dinner duties at 4 and I think we both pushed each other to go a little harder and longer, I reckon! Bonus was getting a good alpha. Probably cracked more good gybes here in one session than anywhere else I've sailed before, which was great fun. Was nice to debrief with Anita both on and off the water. Windxtasy (14483km): iS111, 6.2K, 22FF then Manta 54. 16 kn with gusts to 19 kn. small chop I was greeting the huge crowd at Coodanup when I came across Topcat and then Flex, who had decided to head to Yunderup. Given the high water at Coodanup and the prospect of flatter water at Yunderup Topcat and I decided to give Yunderup a try. I have known Topcat for over 40 years, he has been a member of the Pinnaroos for some years, and I think this is the first time we have sailed together... I started with trying for some alphas but was too overpowered to get good ones, then my foot started to give pain like when I was developing the stress fracture last year, so I decided to give up on gybing and just jump off after each run. I wasn't getting any good speeds, so decided to try the Manta. It was faster but the gusts were short and I could only improve my speeds by about a knot. No great speeds, but good company, warm water, warm wind, sunshine... definitely a change from the conditions we usually sail Yunderup in! A top 10 Yunderup day! |
