Lucky Bay 125 Tabou Loft 7.4 46 supersport. Got too windy for this kit in the end,Need the 105 tabou but was great until it got up a bit for the kit.Smile

Some good breeze about. Did I say I hate trying to gybeCry came close but not toffee apple today.

Gee there were some crew out on the water, bit of a traffic jam I reckon. Wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a ugly prang down there one day with this many out.

Sailed with Damo and Danijel who both having a good day as well

Yay! Got the green light to go to Safety Bay and it did not disappoint!! Plenty of wind, a little lumpier than the last time I was there but got some PBs so I’m one happy camper. Laughing

Even the $%!@ that ran into me and didn’t even apologise couldn’t dampen the stoke.Yell Great fun sailing with Pointman and lao shi. Saw Hardpole but didn’t get a chance to say g’day. A few runs with Adam from the Manbra mob. Slowie’s arrival did not herald a loss of wind!Surprised  Great arvo.Cool The beer tastes good. Tongue out

Great Pinaroos session at Safety Bay. Pbs for Macka and HardpoleCool

Started on alphas but lots of traffic and chop so moved on to the bar. Had a go at the mile with Pointman and Macka. Happy to finally get a Sbay 30+Laughing

Moved on to the nonose and a bit of weight. Fastest I have been at Sbay with a best 10 sec of 36.17.

Slowy, Darryl and Adam were flying down the bar which was getting flatter but I was getting fatigued and decided to call it quits while I was ahead.Embarassed

Safety Bay, first time ever InnocentEmbarassed Great to see everyone, a very friendly place. I asked a bloke who looked local for the info and got an excellent summary.

CA Speed , Koncept 5.8 , Choco 27 weedy

Struggled at first to get going, a lot of water starting, I have only used this board a few times so its like a new one every time ;-)

Got it together eventually and even a couple of gybes, I think I should have been turning while on the flat, surprised how well it went in the chop, I expected a lot of nose diving but not too bad. a bit more practice and I might work it out.

Took your advice Mark and let off a bit of outhaul when outside but was so tired I couldnt hold on, got 33 knots I think Smile

Sorry I missed you Patrick and congratulations on your PBs, Mark told me and it spurred me to go a bit harder,

Melville Beach, Bombora 135, ka 7.5M

Pleany of people there today. Nice to catch up with Damo and Mike.

Practised gybes, and managed a few wobbly ones. Embarassed

Don't know what's happening with my GPS. I was plenty and scary fast today, overpowered on 7.5. The GPS  decided to switch itself off at 5000 points. Fine, but my fast runs were before then, and the GPS decided to reduce my speed, just as it decided to increase it last time. But...it's a loving gift from my wife. I don't dare telling her she bought a wrong one.

YAAAAAAAAAA HOOOOOOOO what an awesome afternoon blast got out on just about my smallest gear and was going damn quick, although when i came in and checked the display reading to find it saying 26 knots i was very disapointed and felt quite misserable all the way home untill now when i find i was going fast and i cracked my 30 knot goal now i realise the reason for the strange display reason was because i had a play with some of the display settings after talking to mark the day before Embarassed

Crackin sesh at Safety Bay today, one of my best sessions this season Cool

I shouldn't have even been sailing, the missus is down south on a yoga retreat and I had resigned myself to not sailing this weekend, but the forecast was too good...enlisted the services of my niece to watch the kids and indulged myself in two hours of delirious windswept mayhem Smile

F111 + 7.0 TR5 + 40 choco weedie.

Spent the first 45 minutes going for alphas, but it was pretty choppy on the bar and there was a lot of traffic, so well happy with a 23.6.

Changed down to the 93 S-Type + 31 JP weedie for a ball tearing NM and some nice speed runs.  Thought I'd cracked a 30 on the NM, but despite some blistering speed in the moguls outside the bearaway into the pond wasn't quite quick enough.

Happy with the speeds on the slalom combo.  Breeze booted in towards the end and I would have dearly loved to plug in the speed board, but I was outta time.

Slowy, Darryl and Mark were tearing down the bar as I packed up.

Heaps of fun and great to sail with some team mates, Mark, Patrick and Jeff all out enjoying what must rank as one of the best sessions this season. SmileCool

I thought you were having a day off sailing today Mark? WinkSmile

GRRRRRRRR!!!!! What a frustrating day for me! Two weeks ago when the winds were light and looked like staying that way for weeks I arranged to take my daughter and four of her friends windsurfing. This afternoon. With that forecast.  Frown But there was no other time we could do it.  So I unload all my gear out of my car to fit the five girls in, and put in the kid's fins, sail and mast. Tie the kids board on the roof. It looks like there will be no wind at all despite the forecast but we head off anyway. They're beginners and we needed to hire 2 boards for the others so we head to Pelican Point. By the time we were driving along Riverside Drive there were whitecaps everywhere. It looked great! (For me, but I wasn't going to be sailing Frown) No parking at Peli of course so we have to park down the road quite a way. We unload the gear and go to rig the kids's sail only to discover I have left the boom at home. Yell I guess we'll have to rent an extra set of gear. So we repack all the gear into the car, tie the board back on the roof and head over to hire 3 boards. Sean was delightful and looked after us very well (2 and 2.6m sails!). The girls struggled a bit in the strong wind but mostly made progress and had fun. Snides popped in from time to time and helped me round up the girls when they strayed too far. The wind looked awesome. Everyone was zipping in and out and I felt really left out. It was torture to just watch. Tacking a 2.6m sail back to the windforce school just didn't do it for me. I had friends there I could have borrowed some gear from but the girls were cold and wet so I thought I'd let them change, take them home and then go sail myself... not realising that it would take them 40 minutes to get changed! (That would have been long enough for me to get my fix of sailing! )Just what there is to do in the Peli Point changeroom that takes 40 minutes I cannot guess. I've been in there. It's not like they have hot showers and mirrors and hairdryers. So EVENTUALLY I take all the girls home only to find one has left her bag in the car, so back to her place a second time. Unload Vienna's gear, find a dry wetsuit and load my gear back in. I head down to Melville but by the time I get there  the wind has just dropped. A few people are still planing but just as many are slogging. I decided not to bother rigging up and sailing. I did have a nice chat with some of my buddies which settled me down, and Melville is a lovely place to be in the evening. When I was driving home I realised I hadn't packed my box of fins and extensions into the carso it's a good thing I didn't decide to rig up!

Poor Sean was very busy and it didn't look like he was going to get out either. I feel your pain mate. I hope you did get to sail.

The girls had a good time and we have agreed to take them windsurfing again in two weeks time. Have to encourage more girls in the sport. I think there should be discounts for females to help attract them. This time we have agreed that if it's windy I sail. If it's light, they sail.

Congratulations on the PB's Patrick, and Jeff too. Whoo Hoo!

And Obelix, your gybing must really be coming along! I must work on mine.

Couldn't resist when the boys seemed up for a session, WindxtasyWink Didn't stay till dark though.Surprised

Sorry you had a distressing day. Huey will allocate you wind Karma points.

Woohoo, Hardpole, well done on joining the 35+ club now in the top 8 for WA Grand masters for 5x10Cool and it looks like you will have a contributing score for 2s! for the month. A first I think?

Great to see you and Macka with a 1 knot + increase in the speed categories. You guys need to get an adjustable outhaul now.

Pointman you are ALPHAMANLaughing but I am MILEMANInnocent. Great back up. Well done on your strategic babysitting arrangement.

Oh Sean, you did get out, and for more than an hour too! Whoo hoo! 30 knots, and all those PB's. Well done. That's a great effort especially considering the chop.

It was nice to catch up with you again this afternoon.

well Anita i couldn't resist that sail as soon as justin's lessons were finished i was gone but i'm glad all the girls had a good time it was good there wasn't many kiters down there today, although there were ones doing some very stupid stuff one jumped straight over one of our learners and another jumped straight in front of me on one of my 30 knot runs Tongue out (as you can probably tell i'm pretty chuffed)

looking forward to helping you again as for the discount you'd have to talk to steven ( SOMEPUNK ) but i doubt you get anything for too reasons, one the school struggles as it is, it's really there to introduce people to the sport and most of the funds just go to running it and secondly steven likes his employee's to be focused and free from as many distractions as possible Wink. anyway the pricing for the girls today was discounted from our normal beginner price, it's normaly $20 where as its $15 for kids and students

congrats everyone else on your pb's too looks like it was an awesome day all round

somthing else i found interesting was i saw a bit of comotion going on near the eastern most spit post off peli point involving the water police and a number of other small boats over the hour or so that i was out i notice that the barge one boat had been towing had sunk and a fender was marking it's position in the channel when i went a bit closer to investigate i was told to stay well away as a barge of fireworks had just sunk

yeh 1 second peak on the gps was 31.108 so shame missed out on a 31 but i'm still chuffed to bits with that 30 but i can't believe people get to 40 knots i've noticed that as you go faster the chop seems to get bigger even if it's just the 10cms over the peli point bank
