Hardie (35820km): Not a good idea to sail with back spasms, have now put my hip out, and limping like an 80yo But couldn't give up the conditions today, except for the weed patches in critical spots, some pb's were possible today, oh well i didn't further damage my wrsit or back, except for the hip. Missile S Vapor 5,5m Choco weed 24cm. Some good no.s to come from some of the others.
Doddi (7589km): Hardie for Crasher, CA SP53 TR-4 5.9m Choco 24cm Weed. First time out on Board for Crasher he was a bit tentative and hence rigged small for him. Started to dial in the board towards the end and then went for a hot NM, could be a PB for him. He's back off to work, which is a bugger for him and the TEAM!!
Bender (23190km): Bunbury Back Beach (Surf Club) 1-25knts southerly F2 SX63, RSR 7.2m, 36Falcon A howling southerly is crap at my local speed spot so i hit the ocean for more LOC training. it was just a quick sesh bit oh so fun. It looked windy but not enough for my 6.2m so i went the 7.2m. To say i was powered up is an under statement. Sailing up wind was testing as i was launching off head high steep faces (got some good jumps in). Once i pointed her down hill there were many brown moments but no offs. I'm starting to really like this ocean blasting.

evets (21500km): Blast on the estuary with some happy sailors. Testing the CA SL52 with RS4 5.0 First with 31 JP sea weed then Benetic 26 Never got really comfortable, rarely powered up. Maybe could have used 5.8 but it got windy towards the end. First sesion with modifications to NP bouyancy vets: 20mm foam added under arms to protect ribs. I am sure this is going to help for although it is only rare I injure my ribs it bl##$y hurts when I do and often costs me TOW. ribs pretty damn sore now but they would have been worse without the padding( I crashed into the water in a gybe and was surprised how little it hurt my already bruised ribs) Hit a weed patch at the end of my session and was flung completely clear of my kit: thought I had snapped a harness line but no damage to anything ( including Benders fin) thanks for the loan of the mast Elmo. Thanks for the tuning tips Le Sam and Snides, I am disssapointed to be 4+kts off the pace

Elmo (31542km): JP Speed 54, NP RSR 5.8m, Elmo LOG weedy 28cm & Elmo 25cm weedy Got down there crasher had already done his 39 Sam had done his 37 and everyone was happy, thought to myself this is supposed to only pick up more so it should be game on. Spent a bit of time fannying around yabbering helping people out with kit befor eeventually rigging my stuff, wanted to test out my LOG weedy so I chucked that on first thinking that the wind would pick up.
Unfortunately the LOG is slightly assymetric even more so its good on port which meant it came back up wind realy well but was a bit of a bugger going down the run, oh well you live and you need to give it a bit more of that grinder loving Came in and swapped over to the 25 went back out, felt much better unfortunately the wind was fading and fading think I probably would have been just as quick if not quiker on the 100L supersport. Like Hardy the snot patches were scarey, saw one on a run and only just managed to veer a couple of degrees so I didn't bullseye it, even then it slowed me up rapidly, bloody things make the run a bit more exciting than it need to be. Snides fitted roller skate wheels to the bottom of his board as he was feeling a bit scared of the deeper water sailing right on the shore line in alpha land, Mad fecker oh well no damage no injuries all good
Decrepit (54652km): Well done crew, great session!!!! Started early with Sam, I had to be of the water by 1500 to go rellie bashing, unfortunately that's when the wind came good. Rigged the same combo as yesterday, (6.0 old speed board 24cm 40deg fin). Aborted the 1hr attempt very early in the piece and concentrated on alphas, didn't do as good as yesterday, although I found some lovely flat water, behind the outer sandbank that's in line with the Howard hootchie.
Sammy the snail (29353km): What the great cruisy day it was at hardies on 5.8 all arvo... went for a bit of everything, I tried first with Mike the hour on the manta 59 but the wind keep playing with us (got the Hr and Alpha). Then suddenly picked up and was a bit hairy for the 85L (still had a 1h1/2 on it) then went out with the CA50 where I got the 37, then I played with the 44 for the last part (could not get higher nbs!) and on my last run (was not planned) it felt great so I just carry on on the NM where I got the 32 (good backup for Crashy). Really happy with everyone nbs today as we could not use the run!! only kiters was enjoying it Great last day of sailing for me till end January . I am going in EUR for few weeks..So I want to wish everyone a great time sailing, a Merry Christmas and a happy new year... Awesome numbers Crasher!! great to have you back , great job Joe and Elmy on you little gear, Steve you really need to tune up your gear!! good to catch up with few MMs, Snides on his bullet and Yoyo too 5.8 RSS \\\\ Manta 59, 290/40 - CA50, 245/40 - CA44, 225/40 |
