Hi Guys,

Another great day out there... a bit gusty but not as up and down as yesterday. For some reason the wind did not seem to getting right in close to the runway, so speeds were set in bumpier water. Good to see Karl, Carol and Des there. Hopefully we can post some good resutls for the team!!

I was out on usual setup which is JP FSW 92 with Select 32cm fin, and NP Hellcat 6.2. I have been getting my gear tuned in much better lately which makes for better for nicer sailing and less energy.

Looking forward to seeing some sessions uploaded from the other guys!

Cheers,

Adrian

Kyeemagh, strong NE wind around 20 knot +

JP SLW, JP X-Cite Ride 122 and Mistral 92L Joker (I think). Neil Pryde 6.1 Fusion and Hot Sails Maui 5.8 Superfreak.

A fun day at Kyeemagh to experience the JP/NP windsurf event. It was great but probably a bit too windy for beginners in the arvo. Really inspiring to see lots of beginners.

Thanks to the JP/NP team for putting on the demo gear I tried plus Jon for his board too.

In regards to results, I though my GT-11 failed. However I was playing around with it today and tried to download my results to the card. It did this and tonight I uploaded the file to KA72.com

It came up with these results for 14 November 2010. The resultant Google Earth tracks look inline with what I recall of the sailing, including one big run down the runway.

Good one Adrian. My GPS crapped out again. This is the final straw. I'm going to buy a new one this week!

You need a new GPS mate!! That must be frustrating to put the effort in and wonder how you went and not be able to see. I was having some issues with mine for a while with a y2K like bug that kept saying I was sailing in the 80s and time going backwards. Luckily Garmin came to the party with new firmware and has been great since then. One day I will buy a Gt-31 or something, but I am pretty happy with the garmin. Seems reliable and accurate... would be good to have doppler, as people will always question my results, but not concerned.

Good to see you there mate.

Dunno what happened. I may have to hold off getting a new GPS this week. Don't really want to spend the money. Received a power bill thats about $150 more than it was before. Bloody hell its getting so expensive to turn the light on Frown

I'll test my GT-11 tomorrow walking around at work.

Does this site allow us to send private messages or emails to other members? Would like to "encourage" Des to post his data!! :)

It would be good get some more active team members. I know it is early season currently so people will become more active, but we have only posted one or two sessions in the last 6 months. We all do this for the fun of it, and this is also a convenient place to act as a database for our personal data, but it would be fun to give a bit of competition to some of the other NSW teams.

Get a Garmin Karl. My Geko 201 has internal memory... so no SD card issues. Just plug into a cable to the PC when I get home to get data off unit... takes about 10 minutes. I have had mine for about 7 years, and still running strong. Never had a hardware problem. Did have a software bug but that is fixed now. Around $200 should get you one with the cables you need. Does not have doppler in the output, but I think it uses it internally for its speed calcs. The output always seems consisten with my expectations. Even if you just use it as a backup reliable unit and still use your GT-11 as your main unit.
