Pipe Clay Lagoon, TAS, AU Board: JP Funster 160 Sail: NP ZEN 6.1 Was going to sail with the other boys that did the 5am start, but Fos got chopped up the road, got bogged and blocked the track. But in the end it was a blessing and I had my best sail to date. Sailed with Brett, Jordan, Damo and Pete. A few others turned up later but the wind had died a fair bit by then. Heaps of fuuuuuuuun back on the bigger board!

Went to a new spot today first went to Anthony's beach near Stanley way too choppy so headed to Montagu to do some exploring by myself.

Found a track to get me close to the water to rig up then tacked up to a spot we have been eyeing off for ages wind was up and down a lot but what an awesome place to sail big mistake wearing the winter wetty way too hot. This place has lots of potential for long runs.

Isonic 76 venom 30 2011 Ka 5.8 a bit underpowered for today about 20 kts

Wow, good to see four of us ready to go at 5AM - well done team!!  So many PB's today!!  Awesome!!  Well done to everyone!!

Looked pretty good when we first got there so I rigged 6.2 Reflex and iSonic 94.  Did a NM run and thought maybe there would be enough for the W49, so changed to that, but not enough, so back to the 94.  After a while of on and off the plane came in and rigged the Reflex 7.8 and grabbed the iSonic 107 with a 40cm Venom.  Stayted on this for the rest of the day.

All my speeds were done with this kit (the NM I thought was OK first up was only 28!!).  Russ, you looked very comfortable and fast.  Kaleb was absolutely fanging - well done on the 1 hr!!  And well done Ant with your fantastic distance effort!!

I came in when the wind dropped and had 243km's at that stage.  Everyone had gone, so I waited (knowing Kaleb had 260 - sory Ant  and Russ got me a little competative!!).  Wind came back in so went back out until it dropped out again!!

At one stage a comorant got spooked as I sailed by and it somehow went between me and my sail, below the boom!!  I had a wing hit my face as it tumbled under the boom!!  I reckon it would have been fine, but a bit ruffled!!

Hopefully my post will add to the over all points!!  Good to hear that new spot looks OK Johno!!

Well done Kaleb for getting us all motivated!!

Kid's Party this afternoon,SmileWink

Something for you to look forward to.

look out for some big posts later. I just hope the wind stays in for them. Love the Falcon, I used an old drake 32 fin which was a bit of a dog at the top end (kept spinning out at the wrong time!!!), should have the c3 Venom in soon so I will give it heaps off the wind then, but for a first sail on it it felt Fantastic.

That would be mine and Ant fault Laughing We gave him heaps when we came in to change sails, you know the typical BS, like, it's ok to come second, lets face it you are getting older. Could be time to slow down a bit.Laughing

With that we got a terminator lookSurprised, I think we should call him the The Stig.

Thanks Kaleb for posting my results, i didn't want to stuff this one up.

Sorry I had to leave you and Dave, only another half hour and i could have hit the 200km, but a little flutter told me to get off the water to live another day.  Can't believe I didn't hit 30knots, felt like i was well over, very deceptive.  Russ you'll keep for another day.

I'd love to see Dave and Kaleb battle it out on a big day "clash of the Titans".  Russ and I stired Dave up, said Kaleb was out for the big one, Dave got a determined look on his face and was ready to go til dark,

Great performance from everyone

FoS, I noticed that, as soon as I changed up to the 7.8, the wind picked up again.  It was a good choice though as it was up and down and especially in my one hr kept me planing the whole time, even in the lulls.
