5107 days ago Great Sail wind abt 18 to 25kts, tide a bit high so choppier than usual therefre used the iSonic 86, TR-4 6.3m and Pepe weed 25cm Great combo flying in the conditions and eating the chop. Had a go at the JP Speed 54, too choppy for such a board at my skill level, was 1.5 knots slower, and life on the line stuff felt dangerous in the chop, but I would imagine on flat water it would be very fast. Other guyz went out, when tide higher & water choppier, but maybe stronger winds, be interesting to see how they go.

Crappy southerly in the 18-25knt range. When i was rigging at 4.30pm it looke like it was bout 20knts so went with 7.8m.After my first run i realised i had way too much sail up as i couldn't sheet in. I thought toughen up Slowie uses this combo all the time.
Did a few runs in waist hight rolling chop/swell out wide and shin high chop close to shore. Wrong wind direction for the speed course so nothing flash. Way too over powered to really wind up. i had a 37displayed on the dial by realspeed and KA72 have knocked it back to a 34 so must have been a spike. First time on the slingshot. All i can say is it jumps well and honks up wind when you are way over powered.

Great fun with ISO86 slim 5.8RSSII and Elmo 23 weedy followed by W52, Most comfortable and fastest was ISO
86 just gave me my 2nd fastest NM and 5X10. It never felt fast or on the limit of control. One very happy evets.

5107 days ago So is posting the best results of the 2 gps's your wearing in the spirit of the comp???? Cause that's what I've done here, not that there's a huge difference.
Perhaps posting the average of the 2 would be better??
Had a go at the hr with Sam, but had the opposite experience to the other day, started off nicelly [powered up with the 6.0 on the 48cm with 21 weedy. Half way thru the wind picked up and it became very uncomfortable thru the middle, somehow I lost Sam and realised I'd forgoten my watch!!! The mods I made to the rear foorpads are OK for short distances but killed my insteps on the 8km runs. Had to abandon the long runs and do shorter ones in Claudsville. Missed judged the time and ended up a few minutes short, one of these days I'll get it right.
Then rigged the newly modified 5.3 and had some speed runs, had a 36.01 on the dial, kept trying for a PB until I eran out of energy. Probably should have rigged the 4.6 and used the 43cm, or put some weight in the jacket.

Got down the run as the wind was picking up, looked good enough to wet the head of the 45cm, the gut was telling me to rig the 6.7 everyone eslse was telling me I was Bonkers for contemplating it, instead of the gut I listened to my peers and their common sense.
Yep it was windy, yes it was choppy amd yess there was a lot of weed around the place, the 45 was fun, but unfortunately with me @98kg and the 45cm displacing 53L it was allways going to be pinned to the bottom with anything but full power, was quite frustrating going to take of in a gust only to have the fin clog with weed in less than knee deep water have to stop clear the fin and hope to hop on the end of the gust.
First run cracked a 37 board launched and I crashed feeling very grateful for deciding to wear an impact vest (a good investment that was) tried everything to get more than 37's but to no avail. My gut tells me the 6.7 would have been a better choice, easier to get going and would have held the nose down a bit as well.
All up it was fun, a bit frustrating with the weed clogging the fin but fun none the less, the Pepe Fin worked a treat. Nice way to cap of the day

5107 days ago waaaho what the great day... The 40 was out there but was so choppy it was on the edge of been dangerous. The captain needed some backup here it is . Done a bit of everything and very happy with my nbs even if did not get the expected HR (I tried something different on HR today to C). Also very happy with my Alpha as they keep improving (I finilly found a spot for goofy sailor like myself , most people are regular and most spot here are for regular!!)
And I passed the 10.000 Kms barrier yeeeeeeeh . HR, NM nd Alpha on the 53, Speed on the 44..
RRD_80L, 260_LE_Mod, RSR_5.8 *** CA_44, RSS_5.0, SS_220/35_SP (first time used it here, last time was in SPoint, juuuuuust superb in the chop, rooooock faking soliiiid)

5106 days ago Mandurah Potential hey!! Saw what the spot could offer today..........and loved it!!! Ive never had the 76 isonic in a situation that made me think 'if I come off I might, they may as well stitch wheels to my butt because its going to be messy!'. That changed today, sliding out at 34 knots and not beinbg able to recover for a good 5 sec......priceless!!!
Had an absolute ball, again. Nice to meet more of the team today and the fact that a couldn't sleep last night thinking about fin sizes, shapes and board to sail ratios etc pretty much guarantees this stuff has me hooked good and proper!!
Well done on the solid numbers guys......inspirational stuff!
