East Perth, iSo 94, Ezzy 5.2, MFC weedy 29

Got there well before dawn and had a bit of a sniff, the wind looked good so rigged up in the dark to the admiring glances of several joggers (I mean who would jog at that hour of the morning?  Bet they were thinking the same thing about me)

Bobbled out towards the wind line when...

*click*

A paparazzi boat had snuck up behind me to take my photo.  The flash was very bright, and the click was audible.  Not sure what was going on I kept going, and...

*click*

Another flash lit up the bay.  I was starting to get a bit nervous now so turned around and headed in.  I've no idea why the lightning made that clicking noise, but then again I don't understand the dynamics of water, carbon masts and very high voltage.

Sat around on shore for a while watching the show, before turning caution to the winds and having just one planing run... To the victor go the spoils! Laughing

Lots of fun, gusty and choppy but plenty of wind in the gusts. It was actually quite warm.

Tried to find some flat water by heading upwind but no luck.

Sailed with Scarrgo and when packing up Mark and Obelix turned up. Doesn't anybody work Money mouth ?

Isonic 76, 5.3 Severne Gator, C3 Sting 28 - think I'd like to try the Venom 28 (anyone selling?) - I find the Sting a bit tempermental downwind.

Melville. 115L 6m then 5.2m. The first time on a sail under 6mand it felt very different. Took me  awhile to figure out how to hang onto the wave sail.

The whole gang was there. Thanks to the captain for the tips on the setup. It was nice to meet JJ and Scargo.

JJ congratulations on the PB.

Melville Beach, WA, AU 85L Sonic, 4.9 Koncept, 28 vector

Almost too embarrassed to post these figures but I need to get on the scoreboard for July. A session where I never felt comfortable at all. At times overpowered with 4.9 but things just never felt right.  If I had tried that waveboard today I would have thought it was rubbish, though maybe it would have been better? I felt like a newbie. Footstraps felt too far back, board kept going sideways when waterstarting. Can't quite work out why. Lack of fitness? Out of practice? Unused to such a small sail? All of the above, but something else too. The ocean like chop didn't help. At least it was a good work out.

Great to be part of the Pinnaroos team reunion at Lucky Bay. It was lovely to see you all again. Sorry I missed you, JJ, and congrats on the PB. No mean feat in those conditions today.

Hard day at the office with a great team turn out.

Awesome to be on the 5.7! All day!

Switched between nonose and S100. Fastest peak on nonose (just). Impressed again by the handling of the Sonic 32GW combo.

Mile was a real leg burner.

Well I found out the hard way that there wasn't enough litres in the board today to haul my carcass,it made for an interesting and very short session.

Should have packed a bigger boardYell

Good to see and catch up with alot of the crew out @ Melville

struggled a bit to put these rusults together tonight i have a feeling that some of them are slightly out cause my file is in 3 peices thanks to the long day at the office Laughing

will have another go at it later

not very pleased with most of the numbers here though was hoping for a better 2sec, 5x10 and hour

was very strange that no matter what i did i could only bearly make 30

the only thing i can think of to boost my speed that i didn't try was running deep downwind through the monster chop in those massive sqauls, didn't really have the guts Undecided

well i'm stuck at home for the next few days so i'm sure there will be wind for everyone

EDIT: second try worked out how to combine the files not much difference really

5.0 koncept, 76 isonic, 26 jp sp, 28 jp sl, 6kg of weight

wasn't impressed with the speeds i was getting with my 26 so swapped over to the 28 not much difference less than 0.1 of a knot on the display in the end little bit more comfortable perhaps i should have taken the hint and gone right up to the 30

was suprised i was able to crack the 100k's with the extra weight today

Scarrgo, send me your files if you want and I will take a look. Also try saving to card from datalogger and see how it compares. Probably have to split by date to get only todays data.

Impressive mid-week turnout team!

I'm under the pump in my new job, so no skiving off early for me I'm afraid.

Hopefully the breeze holds til Sat.

Unfortunately for me that 2 hour job starting at 9am took 6 hours - so no time for me to get on the water, soft excuse i know and will try harder next time

well done all those who did the right thing ! 100k today sounds mad

Scarrgo , I like the 30 with no decimals - very neat !

Thanks, Larko hope the wind gets to you soon.

Don't be so harsh on yourself, Scarrgo! 4/6 of your scores were in your best 5 all time and another 2Km would have given you a distance PB. Big effort in those conditions carrying 6kg of lead just to stay on the water. As your confidence in your gear grows you will throw caution to the wind and go for those big bear aways in the squalls. The horror chop never becomes normal but it does get less scary and thats when it really gets fun!Cool

yeah thats a lot of Ks to be doing with 6kg of lead on in that chop. Considering your size and weight thats a crazy effort. You must be knackered today.

Just watch Mr Boat and try to get within 10 degrees of his sailing angle. I couldn't believe how far off the wind he was getting at times yesterdaySurprised

Great work Sean! Leaving home at dawn and fighting all day in those conditions was a really huge and gutsy effort. Pity you didn't get to pip Cap'n Lao for distance, but the two of you came up with a good average, especially considering the chop and gustyness.

Great nm Mark! Especially in the oceanic (some say worse) conditions!

yeh i can definatly feel that i put in the effort yesterday

but how on earth did you get that Nm mark that is crazy to be able to pick a clean line and be powered up for the whole run

i was struggling just to get a powered up alpha

it was good fun blasting through that chop and swell on my smallest gear all day but i'm feeling like some flat water next time

i think i will have to investigate this mystical spot lao went to on wednesday when i get my speed board finished

it's turning out alright but will have a fair bit of volume for it's size

but the weight has come down alot since i last weighed it, even after bogging all the rails and nose for the third time (hopfully only need one more bog to finalize the shape) it only weighs in at about 4 kg
